(Carved on 4-5oz leather)Alrighty!!
First off, Jareth the Goblin King doesn't belong to me. Neither does Labyrinth.
This sketch was done by the highly-talented and I can't RESIST Jareth. (Curse you, Labyrinth!!!! ensnared me since childhood.... lol) Here's the original: [link]
Lines are done with simply cutting them, resisted the crystal in his hand, and then used a Sheridan brown antique.
Had a small problem - before he was fully dried, I managed to spill water on him. I decided I liked it, and went ahead and make him a little spotty. Now it looks to me like little bubbles (or crystal balls) are floating around him.
Hey, at least I finally finished it!
Filled with 13 signatures of calligraphy paper. Yes, 13. Why? 13 hours, baby. I cannot resist being silly.

First, I would need to ask the artist of the linework for permission to use her piece. Depending on her fee (since it is her work, that particular journal was not for sale), for materials and work alone, it's be over $80. (Handbinding a book sucks lol)

Hey LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS! Altho the water marking was a mistake it really adds to the whole look - one of those great mistakes. 13 signatures? genius and its ok the other laby geeks so get it lol! the fact that you mayb put gold glitter into the pages would be AMAZING!!!!! Out of curiousity how much would it cost to commision something like this from you? xxx

Yes, it was a happy mistake.
As for commission - with materials alone, it's at 30 before the 2-3 hours of work, so 50-60 depending on time.

I really like both this, and the original sketch by janey-jane. It works really well as a carving on parchment-colored material. His cape, especially, looks awesome, and those glowey crystals were a lucky accident!
