Description Ehehe.

When I did the 100 characters challenge I felt a mix of nostalgia and embarrassment over my old characters.
Some more than others, in this case, I missed one enough to feel the need to draw her again.
Hshan ( 'Ee- shaun' which was her best attempt at pronouncing her own name, which requires a forked tongue to properly pronounce) is half naga, half something else.
The way I draw pure nagas, they have no hair, no external ears, no humanoid nose, etc.
So she's a bit of a freak, despises her external ears above all else.
Uspi has some trouble being around other species, who, although grateful of her race keeping the various species of more dangerous wild beast populations in check, are understandably creeped out by the whole "human sized parasite" thing.

...I think they'd get along.

I really like this one. c: The combination of pencils and markers actually turned out really well, as did the colours. I still could've sworn you'd used a scanner for this.
The movement of Hshan and Uspi works really well composition-wise, as all the curves guide the eye around the picture. Coupled with the fact that it is noticeable they are two individuals in their own right with their contrasting colours and designs, but still very similar in basic form, the drawing really stands out. The only thing I could suggest is that perhaps give this a higher contrast between light and dark to give a sense of depth, but I know you've said that your camera can kill shading easilyβ€”and I know from personal experience that markers can be a pain in the neck to get good shading with if you haven't got the right colours on-hand or for whatever other reason.
That said, I love the solid colours and lineart here, and of course the character designs. It's nice to see Uspi again (with that awesome skull no less) as well as one of your older characters making an appearance. c:

They do look like they'd be friends; and sounds like they'd need it as well, considering their respective situations and the way they are looked upon by others. I also like the title for this, actually. Perhaps it stands out simply by being numbers.

I would've commented on this before, but things got in the way. Egh. D:

Thank you very much, I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out. And, yes, the paper version of this has darker tones in it. I may try to tweak that a bit in Photoshop, but I'm still somewhat impressed with my camera this time. c: Uspi and Hshan are both really fun to draw... and they help to balance the excess of limbs my characters tend to have. XD

It's funny that was one of the conclusions I'd drawn from the 100 characters challenge, finding all these places my old characters could fit in now...
I think I'll just be sticking with this one at the moment, though. XD

I adore your comments, but I don't want you to ever feel like you have to or anything like that. Be sure to put yourself first.

You could probably adjust the brightness/contrast/levels in Photoshop, or even use the dodge/burn tools to accentuate lighting; but for the latter two there, be careful with it as dodge and burn can leave things looking somewhat artificial if you overdo things. That said, if used sparingly it can darken or lighten areas just enough to provide the required effect.

And it's quite surprising to see some characters with so little a number of limbs... you've got both extremes present in your designs, heheh. XD

Oh, it's not out of obligation, believe me. I do want to comment and provide what feedback I can, it's just that the last few days, as you know, have a been all over the place. I wouldn't want to rush my opinion on a drawing just to get it posted on the same day the deviation is submitted. I'll find the time needed to express my opinion properly. Thank you, of course, but it's never out of feeling that I have to; I do genuinely mean what I say when I write these things. Otherwise why would I be faving them and still be watching you?

I've changed a few things, hopefully it looks a bit better.

At some point I'm going to have to count all my characters limbs and see the average per being. I'd imagine the results would be amusing. XD

Of course, I just... well, you know.
