Description Updating because... look how much work I put into this.
It's all messed up because lack of skill but
still
I need to do detailed backgrounds
I need time and inspiration lol

This is my entry for 's contest, in which we are to draw an oc helping spring come about in some way.
I can't believe I finished this before time was up. XD Today is the deadline, had random inspiration... inked this last night and coloured, well... today.
Geez this must be the busiest "hiatus" ever. But actually I've been feeling quite a bit better... still, exam time.

Nara has a greenhouse, which is always teeming with lush flora. She's never been the most social of beings, and has found the most connection she has established with others has been through her greenhouse. She occasionally allows a few people in for tea and a chat about how much they despise the winter weather.
...I actually wrote a brief bit of writing that goes along with this drawing, but... I'm not certain about it so I'm leaving it off.
Anyhow, here's Nara in her little piece of perma-spring[/summer].

Quite a lot of this was cropped. But it looks better this way. I like the more "closed in" feel.

Holy crap man the colours! You should have seen this before I toned it down, my scanner had a little freakout. xux

Thanks so much! I have to say... colouring so much of this in a day was a bit crazy, but I am relatively happy with how it turned out. It was the funniest scan job I'ved experienced so far, though. XD
I'm glad you like her outfit, too! Nara's one of my favourite characters to design clothing for, but I do find it a bit difficult sometimes. n_n

Oh my! This scene just blows me away! All of the beautiful colors enterlocked together into one small scene that captures the beauty of a greenhouse and its ability to stay Spring all year aroun-at least in most places. Nara is an exotic flower all her own as her body structure holds such power, but at the same time she appears to hold herself as if she were lighter than air. I have found, much like Nara, that greenhouses tend to open the doors that you, yourself, could not unlock. Flora items just seem to be bring out the best in everyone. Though, I have to ask: what kind of species is Nara? Her design has me curious :3

Thank you! I really love how you referred to Nara, there; it actually suits her on a fair few levels.
I agree regarding greenhouses, at least from my memories of when such a facility were available to the public where I live, there's quite a special atmosphere there. c:

Nara is a subspecies of aevini, one of my original creations. In particular, she's of the Central variety, which is native to islands nearest the equator. Central aevini are much more ornate than the other subspecies, and the only variety in which the female has horns (an example of a more common variety is Hersy.)
Gosh, you've got me wanting to work more on reference sheets to explain more of my species now.

It's actually a bit of a joke in-story that Synthe, a hybrid of erioch and nantia, has looks more akin to an aevini (Nara's species.)
Though I'll certainly admit this is one of my favourite body/head structures to draw. n_n
