Man, I was an art teacher for a year, and before the school year started we watched a presentation about being a teacher... There were a LOT of stories from teachers who had "bad" students, only to find out that the students were being abused by their parents. You just... don't always know the reason a student might be "bad."

Yeah, we had this one kid in one of my classes (5th grade maybe) who was always a jerk and everyone hated him.
One day I saw his Dad talking to a teacher about him and maaaan he gave me the willies the way he was talking. I have my suspicions about that poor kid.
