I like bees. Or rather, I like bees so long as they stay away from me. I find them to be fascinating, incredibly amazing creatures... But as soon as I see one, I fling my arms into the air and flee wailing in fright. They just hurt SO MUCH if they decide to sting you!Of course, if the result of a sting was always like this one has turned out, I might not be so scared of them.

I've never been stung before, but I have had nightmares about bees and wasps in the past. Of course, I would never pass up being turned INTO one!

My mom is severely allergic to bees, so much so that she had to go to the hospital when one stung her. As you might guess, she was less than pleased when she came inside from mowing the lawn and about 10 bees followed her into the house.

But I would be a lot less scared of them if getting stung TFed me.

I also used to be afraid of bee's, I absolutely love them now. (The day I decided to stop being afraid)>> I was drinking a can of coke, and one landed on the rim very close to my mouth, I pulled it away from my mouth instantly, but for some reason kept it close to my face. I watched the bee calmly go about it's business, eating some of the cola left around the rim. I got a very good look a the bee and realized how small and harmless they looked. (Granted this bee could have decided I was bothering him and stung me at any moment, but it didn't

I recall when I went to Hawaiian falls with my classmates for a field trip during Middle School, and just after I had purchased a Lemon CHILL, a bee was crawling over one corner of the frozen lemonade in the cup. I knew he wanted the sugar, which was fine, but such a small space made it really easy for my spoon to tick him off.
That didn't really make any difference about my anxiety around things that sting.

Agreed. ^_^ Bees are just minding their own business. If you leave 'em alone, they'll just go about doing what bees do. No need to attack them.
I wish I wasn't afraid of them. I know, mentally, that they don't have any reason to attack me... But the one time I've been stung, it kinda freaked me out. >_< Right underneath the fingernail, so the sting was hard to treat, and it hurt extra bad. >_<
Hopefully, I can appreciate bees without being scared by them some day.

Ouch, they used to torture people my shoving bamboo under their fingernails, I can imagine how painful that would have been being stung by a bee there.
I got stung by 4 bee's at once when I reached under the shingles of an old shed to try and hoist myself up. Bad idea...

I'm not as afraid of bees as I am of WASPS. WASP STINGS SUCK. ESPECIALLY when you have four of them stinging the back of your leg at once, and you had to pull them off yourself. >_<

Ah! That sounds nasty. >_< Thankfully I've never had to deal with wasps much... But I agree. Wasps are scary. They're like bees in that they hurt when they sting, but they're also super-ornery, and get mad at stuff for no real reason. >_<

I know! And a bee dies once it stings something, wasps just keep coming back for more. >_<
