Description Princess Celestia's star pupil, the Bearer of the Element of Magic, and as such on numerous occasions the Hero of Equestria, alongside her friends, of course, the Princess of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle, is one of the most remarkable ponies Equestria has seen in centuries.

Despite all her power and status, Twilight is still very much the same humble, studious mare she has always been. Princesshood was challenging, at first, but overtime Twi has learned to manage her responsibilities with grace and even vigor, aspiring to better Equestria with her teachings on the magic of friendship, which she now does in a more direct approach befitting her nature- a few years after her marriage to Scorpan and the birth of her daughter, Starswirl, Twilight decided to open up her own school, the Equestrian Academy of Magic*.

Twilight, with Princess Celestia's full support, firmly decided that the school would be open for ponies of all races: earth, pegasi, and unicorn, and the magic that would be taught there would be inclusive for all, given that magic has always brought the ponies of Equestria together. The most important lesson Twilight herself teaches, of course, is how friendship is the most powerful magic of all, and by having ponies of all kinds practice their own magic, Equestria will have the opportunity to grow stronger and be more unified as a kingdom. Twilight has employed many of her able friends to teach at her school, like Zecora, Moondancer, Sunburst, and even Trixie, among many others, but above all she entrusted her own faithful prodigal pupil, Starlight Glimmer, to run the school by her side as her Vice Headmare (though Starlight is a professor there, too).

When not overseeing school affairs as Headmare of her school, Twilight's duties include arranging and meeting with delegates from foreign nations to better relations with them and to forge friendships and alliances. Twilight is also responsible for creating and drafting treaties (with approval of the other princesses, of course), and for maintaining harmony within the land, a duty shared by all of the princesses. Twilight is also subject to dutifully carrying out friendship missions as they appear by the Friendship Map if and when they summon her, or if not then entrusting that others, usually her friends, carry them out as the Map commands.

Twilight is normally very busy with her full schedule, but she still always has time to hang out and catch up with her friends, who remain as important to her as they were from the very beginning. She tries to meet with them as regularly as possible, and despite all the changes that have happened to them as time has gone on, they are all still as close as they have always been.

And this concludes my covering of the Mane 6 in Harmonyverse!

Twilight is probably one of the most powerful ponies Equestria has ever seen, below Princess Luna and Princess Celestia, of course, and all of her accomplishments have been absolutely amazing so far. Naturally, I feel, as Twilight progressed further into her future, she garnered even more success for herself and contributes even more as a princess for Equestria, and, like her former mentor, Celestia, decided to become a teacher herself. Cue my explanation and typical tossing out of canon, heh.

Twilight's next step after becoming a princess, to me, was always to become a teacher, like Celestia was for her, to somepony else. When that happened with Starlight Glimmer, the next possible step I figured Twilight would be taking would be to open up her school- and when it eventually did happen in the show, let's just say I had another idea in mind than what we received.

To start off, understand that I don't hate the concept of the School of Friendship- in fact, I think it's very fitting! It's pretty much what I would expect of Twilight, and the bonus that the school is open to all creatures is super great. What sort of does make the school unappealing to me is how the school is actually run- by the Mane 6. To me, theoretically, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy would be perfect teachers for the school except for the fact that the show kind of already establishes that they have their own full-time careers and responsibilities, and were already flourishing in these positions before the school became a thing. It doesn't make a lot of sense for me, then, that they should be teaching, although they are the bearers of the Elements of Harmony, since they're already busy with their own lives before the school opened up canonically. I don't see them having a lot of time to contribute to the school, basically, and their lessons so far as shown aren't exactly what I thought they'd be. All in all, the school just seems pretty weak to me and I wish it could be better.

And to be painstakingly honest, too, with you all, I always wanted Twilight's school to be sort of inspired by Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry because I am an insane Harry Potter fan.

And that's how the Equestrian Academy of Magic was born! Twilight running a school has been a popular idea even before the notion was suggested by the show canonically, and I've had it in mind for a very long time (it's been a part of Harmonyverse since the very beginning) since even before the School of Friendship was debuted. Because of my reservations about the canon school, I decided instead to go down my road once again, and I'll hopefully have some time to share more about the Harmonyverse school with y'all soon.

Given that the School of Friendship isn't going to be canon in my verse, that means that the Young Six, also, aren't considered canon in Harmonyverse. This is mostly just in a sense, however- Yona, Ocellus, Gallus, Silverstream, Sandbar, and Smolder could be canon if you want them to be, but as far as them becoming friends with one another or the chance of them even being featured by me in the future are pretty slim- they're alright for the most part, but I don't find them to be very compelling characters as is, so for now, they're pretty much benched, if you get my drift. Sorry to their fans! They're cute, but I don't really have any use for them at the moment.

With all that being said, I hope you've liked my decisions so far regarding the Mane 6 and their futures in Harmonyverse! I'll be moving on to other canon secondary characters, like spouses and other important individuals, like the princesses, after this, so be on the lookout! I've already completed Sunburst  in the past, and I'll be working on Starlight Glimmer next. Keep an eye out for that sometime in the future. Enjoy, folks!

Here's how I see the knockoff Mane 6 we got in season 8. Even if they never show up in something, like this, it doesn't mean they cease to exist at all.

We just never meet them. No reason they can't still be around in their homelands. Or whatever you call Griffonstone to Gallus.

I like your version of Twilight's future.

As for the whole Friendship School thing, yeah, I kinda agree with your reasons for it. The concept is fine but the idea of all the mane six running it I feel wouldn't work since they all have careers of their own and would be too busy to run the School as well. I like your idea of which characters would run the School in your universe more than the shows and I'm really interested on what characters like Starlight, Trixie, Sunburst, Moondancer and Zecora would teach in your version of the School. As for the Student Six, they're... OK but not really all that interesting to me.

To be honest, I haven't really caught up with the 8th Season because I've kinda lost a bit of interest in it. I've only seen the Season 8 Premiere and the episode The Parent Map (I only watched that episode because it focused on Starlights Dad and Sunbursts Mom and I wanted to know what happened to them, especially Starlights Dad).

Speaking of Season 8, I wanted to ask you something. Even though the Friendship School isn't canon in your universe, are you gonna make Spike getting wings canon or are you gonna leave him a wingless, magical dragon like you made him in your picture of him all grown up?

I like everything about Twilight in your version! It makes her feel more competent!
And as for Season 8 school of friendship....yeeaaaaa....
When i heard about this school before it got aired, i was overwhelmed, because i don't like a show when there's a focus over a school, i think it's boring, it doesn't contribute or progress the story and it's bland. Now of course this concept works in a Slice of Life Show! But isn't MLP a Slice of Life? Yes. yes it is! But here's a thing, it has a concept how we follow the mane 6 (and other character's) around whit their life and life goal, but with a side of adventure! They go around Equestria and beyond Equestria and that's how they learn lesson's and interacting with other and helping other ponies or creatures with their problem, and we learn their background stories and development. That's what made the previous season so adorable and exiting! That's why i like this show, it focus on character interaction's, development and flaw's!

And a lot of people (by people i mean bronies) focus more on lore rather then story and character's!
Lore dose not make story, Story with interesting character's makes a good lore, you can't turn around, and it's a shame that a lot of people think that, now i'm not saying that liking a lore on a show is bad, heck i like sometimes lore ~CouchCouchDragonPrinceCoughCough~ but like i said you need to establish the story and character's and the setting first. I think that's why i like your Harmonyverse! You focus first on story and character's then the lore, and i love it and will keep watching you! ^^

And that's why i don't like the school concept, they don't teach you about friendship, like how can i interact or befriend somebody if i have math class and i don't want to disturb the class!?
So in conclusin School suck's, nobody like's it and kids don't like it to (ok some kid's like school).

As for the Student Six..... yea i don't care about them, they are so bland and uninteresting, I do like Smolder and her interaction with Spike is really good and adorable, Gallus has a good story too...but that's all, Now i watched episode 22 and they starting to have some development which is nice and i already watched the finally which i will not spoil!

OOff sorry for the big ass rant on School of Friendship i need to get of my chest! XD
Once again really great story for Twilight and the art, i can't wait more for your Harmonyverse! ^^
Keep it up!

This is pretty much exactly what I imagine Twilight would be doing in the future, and I agree with your opinion of how they've handled the School of Friendship in the show.  While I like the concept, and how they're setting up successors to the Elements of Harmony in a sense with the Student Six, I don't like how they have the mane six as the teachers when they could've brought back fan-favorite characters such as the characters you're using or even the key-bearers to be teachers (though I do understand why from a show-telling standpoint; they want to keep the Mane Six in the spotlight even within the school setup).  Even though I'll still be using the School of Friendship in my next gen, I'm gonna have Twilight's friends step down as teachers to focus on their own lives and replace them with other characters, so it'll kinda end up going in a direction similar to yours (though I don't know if I'm gonna be doing anything with the Student Six at the moment).  Anyway, I love the idea of a school centered on exploring all aspects of pony magic, not just unicorn magic like with Celestia's school, and I'm looking forward to learning more how your version of Twilight's school turns out!

I'm glad we're of similar mind, then!

It makes sense that the Mane 6 are the teachers because, of course, the whole show revolves around them, but it's still a weird choice, I feel, yeah. I'd love to see what other characters you use in your version of the School of Friendship! Celestia's school has always interested me, but I wasn't that big a fan how magic seems to be exclusive only to unicorns when we've seen time and time again that all ponies are capable of using magic, even if it isn't executed in the usual fashion (via horn). Hopefully I can expand more on all the kinds of pony magic soon. Thanks!

No problem!

Yep.  As for which characters I'd have take over the mane six, haven't quite figured it out yet.  The School of Friendship doesn't really play a major role in my first next gen arc, focusing on choosing a new princess: the Princess of Hope, so I haven't chosen new teachers yet (Cheerilee, Moondancer, and Zecora are possible candidates though, or I could use the Student Six instead, as I haven't figured out what to do with them yet).  There is a good chance I'll have Starlight promoted to headmare in my next gen, though, cause Twilight will be taking up more princess responsibilities and not be able to continue as headmare (she'll still stay the school's patron, of course, and may teach every once in a while).

I like to think Celestia's school was established in honor of her teacher, Starswirl, and would provide a safe place for unicorns with above average magic to develop their talents without hurting anyone (and coincidentally allow Celestia to keep an eye out for any future potential princesses).  It unfortunately had the unintended side effect of making it look like only unicorns are able to use magic or only their magic matters (definitely not Celestia's intention).  Your Academy of Magic idea sounds like a great way to break ponies of that mindset and learn about all the different pony magics: unicorn, pegasus, earth-pony, crystal-pony, zebra, Pinkie Pie , etc.  You could even have the Academy of Magic take over and absorb Celestia's school since the Academy would basically do the same thing and more.

Is Twilight and by extension Cadence immortal in your verse?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DuneFilly In reply to ImpTheWimp [2018-10-11 04:30:17 +0000 UTC]

Twilight and Cadence aren't immortal in my verse since they weren't born alicorns- they'll definitely live a bit longer than the average pony, but they won't live forever. Celestia and Luna, although born alicorns themselves, also won't live forever, but their lifespans have and will go on for a very long time still. They can technically die if mortally injured, but it takes a lot of damage for them to ever be put in that situation. The same goes for Twi and Cadence, but they're significantly more susceptible to being mortally wounded than Celestia and Luna, even with their powerful magic as is.
