Description
Here is the second of possibly several Terragen 2 tutorials I'm making - this one follows in the footsteps of my first one but goes into scene creation rather than just the interface. I tried to make it easy to follow but also touching on each aspect of making a scene so I hope it helps! Be sure to drop me a comment or note and let me know what you think.Enjoy!

how the hell could this take 8 hours to render?.. do you use a render farm consisting of calculators or typewriters?

Decent resolution, moderately cruddy PC, early version of TG2. Some things just take time to calculate.

Well I just downloaded this program a few days ago and am still learning - your tutorial is very helpful but 8 hours to render - Yikes!

Ah thanks your tutorials have helped alot,
too bad it takes an age just to render a scene on my pc (so long I haven't had a patience to render a scene yet).

This is not only good, it's unbelievable that you can do that with a program. I know photoshop a little bit, but does PS +CS do all that? I don't know. I haven't been able to do this. I only have about 2 yrs exp. though.

Thanks mate - the landscape is all Terragen but the tutorial itself is PS. It takes time though, don't ever stop making stuff!

my interest in teragen is for creating effective skyboxes. a tutorial on how to make night skies would be great. or good dusk skies with more dramatic colouring.

Thanks very much for the tutorial, it, together with your first one, is very helpful.
I've got a long way to go in terms of TG2 learning, but I think I've got the basics.
I just wish the max render size was larger.

Really? How so? It's a bit steeper of a learning curve than the original, but it can produce amazing results!

They improved the clouds for Terragen so use 3D clouds. The 2D looks icky.
Good tut!

Aye, that was one of the things I'd definitely correct. I've been learning about trying to duplicate Luc's awesome clouds and may have to put a few things online about what I've seen at some point. Incredible stuff!
