Bio card: R4-P17 is an astromech droid that accompanies Obi-Wan Kenobi on the Jedi fighter. Handy and well equipped, this droid is ready to repair any damages to the ship
Some droids suffered repeatedly, like r2-d2 and r5-d4. But there’s one droid who suffered painfully, that droid is R4-P17. Her backstory explains that she was originally a waste dump droid, crushing unwanted waste on a crusher, one day she accidentally fell in the crusher and was severely damaged, it wasn’t until Anakin skywalker and r2-d2 found her. Anakin reprogrammed her and gave her memories on an R2 head instead and presented it to obi wan kenobi on his Jedi star fighter until a new body was given to her. Little did she knew that life as a Jedi droid would bring her to her end.
As for her figure, it’s one of the best figure one could ever ask for. Now some of you might say that this version gives her a dirty or dusty look, but I think that’s good because it gives her a unique appearance and doesn’t look dull. Coincidentally, the cast hasbro used for her is of R4-G9, another one of obi wan’s droid. Something I always wonder, was how R4-P17’s original r4 head looked like and if she and R4-G9 were good friends.
If I were to rate this figure, I would give her a 10/10

Number in my line of collection - #12
Year made - 2004
Year i got it - 2020

Droid allies

- R2-D2
- R2-M5
- R2-N3
- R5-A7 / G8-R3
Bio card: One of the astromech droids assigned to the conveyance of the royal personage of Naboo, R2-R9 displayed the characteristic bravery of his model when he trundled out onto the exterior hull of the Royal Starship, only to be obliterated by a turbolaser blast
Some astromech droids are always released single, but others are released in pack at times. But there’s one droid that’s been released multiple time in pack, but never had his own single package. That droid is R2-R9, having only 3 figures that can’t be bought separately, unlike his 3 companions; R2-D2, R2-B1 and G8-R3. An interesting fact is that two other droids had used his body. Those being R4-P17 in the revenge of the sith and R5-X2 in the phantom menace. We have to wonder if his body still survived. Another interesting fact is that r2-R9’s legs didn’t had wheels, likely because he wasn’t going to be used much.
Out of the 3 versions, this version is considered to be the best. Due to his swimming scanner bobbing up and down, and because his paintwork shines when placed on the light. Just like R2-B1, R2-R9 has the most hasbro action figure when it focus on the 5 loss droids of queen padme amidala’s royal Naboo J-type 327 nubian starship.
If I were to rate this figure, I give him a 10/10
——————————
I was lucky to find these two on eBay, due to both them coming from the same seller, but were intended to be sell separately. I would place them together, due to the small scratches, it looks like they had quite the adventure with their original owner. But it doesn’t bother me at all, these two were the two droids I always wanted to get after my first r2-d2 figure, but i couldn’t find them at the time. Now that i got them, it makes me happy to have 3 of the 4 droids I’ve been looking for (the third being r2-b1). I like to nickname them the “scarlet E duo” E for eBay and scarlet due to them being red.
Before I started these 5 reviews, I got more astromech droids in the process. Next time, I will talk about another naboo droid, 4 droids from the movie of a controversial trilogy and an r5 unit with an unusual livery. the next one im going to talk about, is the other naboo droid.
Both droids are own by me.
