I could make that jump if I wanted to, but I don't feel like it.

Great shot and I love Moab! I camped on the Federal Lands in Canyonlands NP. Loved it!

Yummy, Gold Bar Single track route. I'll be there next Thursday, hopefully doing the Magnificent-seven.

Nice shots of that overhand.

oh yeah !
i tell people that rock teeters ?
have fun !
i've been riding moab since 1985 - seen it (trails) go from + to - over the years (?)
now i just spend two days there. one on my way south (cedar mesa ares)and one on my way home (front range).
too many people....too many restrictions...
oh well ! life goes on.

Maybe so. I have seen Moab go down like you daid, but since I have hooked up with some locals, I found a whole new Moab.

Some of the stuff like "rockstacker" which I rode a long long time ago is one that is now mainstream. Others, not so much....yet.

Nice !! great shot and location.
i think a photo touch to hide the roads would give it an aspect of a true wild area.

thanks.....
either way ? but in like the hwy and RR tracks - give's it a sense of height and perspective (?)
and a little bit of a vanishing point.

Nice shot of the road I've driven on many times. It really captures the height of the walls in Moab Canyon.

I found you by doing a search for "Gold Bar Canyon" and this one popped up. I'll have to check out the rest of your gallery now.

eDDie-TK In reply to djohn9 [2010-04-08 23:52:41 +0000 UTC]

that's like a three hour mtn bike road to the top - and i only carried my point and shoot (4.2 MP) still came out pretty decent
next time i'm bring the big guns !

Rhavethstine [2008-12-28 09:23:04 +0000 UTC]

Wow, that's a crazy overhang to be that far out on. O_o Really gives you some perspective on just how high you are. Great view from up there!

eDDie-TK In reply to Rhavethstine [2008-12-28 14:37:08 +0000 UTC]

thanks for the comp - yeh it's a long drop-off....
when i take people up there they have no idea about the over-hand. then after when i show them i tell tell them that the rocks was teetering when they were out there.(LOL)
the only thing that sucks is that it'a about a 3 hour mtn bike ride to get up there. it's almonts directly (a little farther north) across from from the entrance to arches.

and like you said it's funny how you see the same pics/spots other DA's have been to...

you have some cool pics in your gallery. the one that catches my eye the most is spider rock in canyon de chelly. even though i'm not a big fan of the vertical landscape yours fits it just right.

i was gonna put one of my best from '08 up kkarts poll, but to tell the truth i have no idea how to do a link in DA ???

thanks for looking at my gallery, just one question how did you find it ?

thanks again and have a grrrreat day.
eddie

To create a link on DA, you can use standard HTML link tags or you can just copy/paste the address into your message. Example of a copy/paste: [link]

Here's a step-by-step in DA's FAQ if you need more detailed instructions. FAQ #859: I was asked by an administrator in the Help Desk to supply a link to my image or forum thread, etc. How do I include a link in my reply? )

I ran into your page from one of your comments on some random photo somewhere. I can't remember where exactly, as I was just browsing around aimlessly the other night and your icon caught my attention with its south-western-looking pictograph.

eDDie-TK In reply to Iamidaho [2007-11-09 01:29:21 +0000 UTC]

that is a great overlook - most of the time i don't even tell them it's an overhang until after the shot - then when the see where they've been - there not to happy. i tell people that the rock teaters (LOL)
i'm not sure what the rating is (for 4 x4) or even how they rate it. i was there during jeep safari week this year. it's 9 days leading up to easter sunday, but really ends on that saturday. the trail/road to it is very difficult. i takes us about 2-3 hours to get up to this point on bikes. a friend of mine custom builds 4x4's and he was testing his custom built amc eagle out on this trail.
if you want to see pics of that trip and his custom amc eagle i have then on my kodak site, but i'd need an email address to send them to. he also has videos on youtube i think i under amc eagle (?)
i'm planning on going this coming spring, but not during jeep safari week - to many people - i'm planning on going the first week in april if everything goes right with vacation time and all.
