good thing it has a good home - i'm told leucistic animals don't live long in the wild

It's hard to say, there are not many of them in the wild to base that on. There are a couple here in the Oklahoma/Kansas area that have been spotted for several years.

She is practically an albino. This is the bird that led to that Ornate Hawk-Eagle being in PA. She is a very sweet bird away from where she picked to nest. She chose a big planter that was near her perch and refuses to nest anywhere else.

Her name here is Wah-ke-ah. That is about as good as I can spell it. I don't remember what it means though, it is a comanche word.

I have never seen a Red Tail like this before. She's stunning. My first thought was actually the huge golden eagle from Rescuers Down Under

There are not too many of them out there that look like this. But there are a few wild ones around

This bird belongs to a facility we support. We had the pleasure of helping them during an event a few days ago.

That's cool. I've never seen a leucistic hawk. I've seen an albino ruby-throated hummingbird though.

Yeah. Albino hummingbirds don't last long though. Their wing feathers wear out very quickly because they lack the pigments that make their feathers sturdier.
