Only half-way through the MOC did I realised she resembled [link] , so I felt inclined to give her a similar name too.

Mathilda was brought up in a prestigious and powerful family. She was hoped to grow up to become a 'lady' and marry someone rich and sophisticated of the same class, like most young women of the time would and should.

But she had different ideas.

Rather than going to society balls and mixing with the young toff, she would go mountain climbing, hunting, getting into bar fights down at the docks and getting up to the sorts of things that would have landed her with an entire legful of electronic tags and enough ASBOs to wallpaper her bedrooms(she had two). Most of the time, servants would be dispatched to 'retrieve' her(most of the time they failed).

Her poor parents were beside themselves with worry. And things weren't helped by her hypersensitive mum's habit of swooning at the least bit of excitement. Having a wild child like Mathilda gave her lots of opportunities for dramatic flops-to-the-floor.

The more Mathilda continued with her wild antics, the more determined her parents were to constrain her. Things escalated until one day, Mathilda had enough of the constraints and decided to seek her own fortune. She smuggled herself on board the HMS Federation and sailed out into the ocean.

Until she got Shanghaied on some distant land.

Now she's an adventurer, and has fully embraced her wild and adventurous side. She carries a silenced SMG, an assault rifle, a magnum and a laser cutter. She is also proficient in the art of hat throwing and canne de combat.
