Hmmm, so there's this neato Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time fan artwork contest going on. The details are here:[link]
This'll be my entry for that contest. I kinda.. only got it done just now, on the day of the deadline. Wooo...!? I hope it made it in the contest. e_e I know how to procrastine like nobody's bidnezz.
There's Nico's chibi Emo Nico contest entry that I need to work on some more too, but now... I'm going to bed to get up for work in 4 hours, kanapewpewpewnyaaaan....

you have some really fantastic tones in this. your composition and background is very good too, underwater scenes are hard imo. the only thing that seems off is Link's eye-through-the-hair thing.

Yah, Link's eye really doesn't look right, there. I should edit this deviation one day, I had gotten rid of that eye and did a few other tweaks to the picture, but I haven't replaced this picture with the revised one, yet.

Interesting and beautiful artwork. And best of all, it has Link and Ruto in the same picture.
Just to let you know, I LOVE the Link/Ruto or RuLink Couple. Does this pic or story to it have anything to do with the RuLink couple?

Hmm, does this picture have anything to do with Link and Ruto's relationship? I dunno, really! I don't think I had a story to go with it. I know that I wanted to draw Link underwater, and where there's beautiful bodies of water in Hyrule, the Zora should be there to enjoy the place. So I added the Zora to go with Link for a swim. And because I've never drawn the princess before but I do adore her, she got to be there, too!

I really like this piece, and think the colors are wonderful. I think you drew Link the best, but the eye through the hair just bothers me. I think it would work without. But I know this is common is anime style work. I still think it's great!

Ah finally! I loved this picture ever since I laid eyes on it for the first time. There is somehow such peace in it. And the proportions are very well caught as well. Why didn't this one win? Hmmm?
Well anyway - as a token of my appreciation I just have to fave it. After all - Zoras are cool and my favourite creatures of Hyrule... so yeah. Faving it is a must!

The Zorakind are among my favorite race in Hyrule, too! Probably would say that they are my favorite of them all, followed really closely by the Rito tribe of bird people. ^__^
I was so glad to be able to transform into a Zora in Majora's Mask. 0__0 That's like the coolest thing ever in all the Zelda game series' play mechanics.
In fact, I'm gonna play some MM right now and take a swim---!

I went Zora swimming too - it's so much fun! In a matter of gaming experience only Ecco the Dolphin can match that! And in a matter of Zelda gaming experince that and the charged spin attack with the Biggoron's sword in OoT are my favourite things you can do!

this reminds me of the dreaded water temple and the block. every time i replay thats the one thing i forget. i love how it seems like the water is reflecting them! and navi isnt a ball of light! D: i love your work so much

You did an amazing job on the Zora, especially Ruto who happens to be one of my favorites. Kudos for actually drawing Navi as opposed to making her the simple ball of light she usually is.
The only suggestion I can make is that the lines of light across the characters maybe should have been blurred as water tends to distort light the deeper it goes.

Oh yah! The water effects should have been more blurry, dang. >.< You're very much correct about that. I should have done more research. Thank you for your insite in the matter! Yesterday, I DID fix a number of other issues that were pointed out to me by everyone's critiques, in the picture, but I overlooked the water light sourcing thing entirely, even tho I knew that somehow it looked strange to me. I just didn't know what was the strange thing about it, till now.
