I have more sophisticated techniques for this sort of thing now, but back when I was making the early Adventures of Captain Atom videos, I just mounted my webcam on top of a Lego storage bin and taped the rocket onto a pick a brick cup to make it look like it was flying in the air. In hindsight, some shorter stands might have also done the job...
