This was an attempt at impressionism. It was very difficult because I naturally want to paint realism...and as much as I tried, this painting isn't really that impressionistic, lol! Maybe I should just stick with what I know.
The lighthouse was supposed to be taller...the reference I used had 2 more stripes in it...oops! lol!I started this painting with a woman that I was giving painting lessons to. I finished up the last half of the painting today. It feels good to get my hands in traditional media again.
16"x20" acrylic on canvas pad. Approximately 9 hours.

I intended for this painting to be muted, dreary, and not detailed. I failed miserably, lol! But at least it still turned out good.

Thanks! It's not as impressionistic as I would have liked, but I guess it is a start.
