Thanks! Dr. Eggman and Dr. Robotnik don't even seem like they're the same character. =\ If Robotnik had been Eggman in the cartoon, I really doubt that I'd have become such a hardcore fan. Even in the comics he's pretty lame.

+ Oh yeah, lol. Indeed the best Robotnik design. The newer 'Eggman' design just doesn't touch it, all though the archie comics pull it off pretty well. I love the over the top scream, and the slight drooling. The red shading is pretty good too, it all gives the impression something is going very wrong indeed, lol.

You forget those are his actual eyes, Sega's continuity has grey eyes, but SatAM/Archie eyes have always been like that. He's just wearing his glasses all the time for you not to notice. Also the current Archie Robotnik was a originally a robot-clone till Sonic won a bet with the Bem and had Robotnik and Snively turned Human... I've been around Sonic since I was 3, and the comics are THE best. Issue #50 anyone?

+ I am aware of the red eyes, after all, they made an appearance last issue, lol. I'm a sonic geek too 
As for the rest, I only discovered the Archie series at issue 134, but I had also found about the robotnik clone, although not about the bet with the Bem.
Also, issue 50 rawked, I just wish I'd known about it when it first happened, rather than from rereleases.

when it comes to Robotnik in the comics (eggman design) in issue 200 he loses his glasses and we see his eyes and man is a freaky. Not to mention the whole scene with him going insane!

Man I haven't really "read" it in such a long time so I haven't seen the bit you're speaking of. I dropped out around 100 XD But I pick up a comic here and there just to see what's up. Like, a year ago there was talk of some guy who worked on the simpsons trying to resurrect the SatAM show.. I wonder how that's going..

Actually, it was Grounder's VA, Garry Chalk.
The guy's not a bad VA at all, but yeah he was a pretty bland Robotnik, especially when compared to the other two. He just wasn't given anything interesting to work with.

I know "Eggman" is the original Japanese name, but in America, it sounds so gay. "Robotnik" is a name you give to developed characters that are smart and like robots. "Eggman" is a name you give to a guy who likes eating eggs, or studies eggs, or collects them. He's an awesome villain, he can be scary, AND funny, I nominate him as one of the best villains.
