Why is a raven like a writing desk?
Answer: "Because they both collect useless things." ~
More here: [link]

There is no correct answer considering Lewis Carroll admitted that there was no answer intended. Coming up with answers is just for pure amusement. There is no right or wrong answer. You could answer with neither is made of aluminum foil and it would be acceptable.

I operate a group called o-Why-is-a-Raven-o. Join the group if you like, but don't forget your tea: [link]

Here's the icon version of this stamp which was adapted for the group I operate: [link]

I love it when questions have no answers... then you don't have to tire yourself finding one ^^

You're thinking of a magpie. In fact, neither a raven nor a writing-desk is terribly good at singin, but both can produce a few flat notes.

Because it can produce a few notes, though they are very flat; and it it is never put with the wrong end in front.

Because Edgar Allen Poe both wrote on them! You know, because he's the author of The Raven and presumably wrote all his poems on a desk.

I actually have the definitive annotated Alice, and it talks about the lack of answer and whole slew of answers people wrote into a contest and whatnot. It's a blast.

I read the Annotated Alice [link] about a month ago. I read the older 1960 version that my local library has. I loved it.

I got a version for free from my elementary school library, but it was missing a few pages, so I had to print them out. Looking at the publisher page, it's from 1957.

I was recently inspired by a professor I met who has a dozen copies in her office and dozens more at home. All of Alice.
