Well, if you count the numerous wasted potential times, he can be an "idiot".
Not even catching a single Legendary or releasing his strongest ones. Using Fire types on Water types.
Trying to get Pikachu to pwn Onix, even though electricity is fricken useless against Rock or Ground types.
Being 10 years old and staying 10.
But other than that, the one thing that saves me from wishing death to him is his kindness towards Pikachu, even though Pikachu was a huge dick in the beginning of the series.

It was just my opinion.
Now don't get me wrong. You are allowed to not like a certain character. But what's really bad is to bash his fans, and tell them they are idiots just for liking that character and yadda yadda.
My goal here is not to force you to like a character if you don't. My goal here is to make everyone stop hating, trolling, bashing, and cyberbullying people that like said character.
And about Ash:
- He doesn't seem to catch a single legendary Pokémon
- He was supposed to die at some point, but his friends' tears seem to have magical powers on him, and he's back to life! Yay!
- He always releases his best Pokémon and cries like a baby after doing so.
- He will never win a Pokémon League.
- His Pikachu can take down Rock-Ground type Pokémon creatures, even though they are supposed to take little to no damage from electricity.
- He won against his rivals once, it never happened again.
We all do mistakes in our lives, I just did a mistake, but they should have kept Red as the main character, in my opinion.

- Catching a Legendary Pokemon and using it as a crutch would be poor decision on not only on Ash as a trainer, but overall character. He would be about as bad as Cameron, who relied on his Hydreigon (Pseudo Legendary) to win his battles, since he was like crap all for skills. He would be hated for, and be called a noob on relying on something like a Legendary, like how people reacted to Tobias back in the Shinnoh League.
- Where was it stated that he was suppose to die at some point? I'm sorry, but I need a source for your claim there, other than "I think".
- He releases them because he wants the best for them, such as Butterfree getting down with his own girl. Also they are his friends and he's traveled with them for so long, don't you think it would be hard to let go of a long time close friend? Plus not all that he's released was his best, since he still has Charizard, plus Goodra kind of was crap at the Pokemon League.
- That's more on the writers, not the characters. Because for whatever reason winning one Pokemon League equals ends of story, according to writers of Pokemon. When in reality his dream is to become a Pokemon Master, and that winning one League does not equal becoming one.
- Again, writers, plus anime logic, it doesn't always play out the way it should.
- Because for the most time, he never faces them again when he does win. And that's not true, he won against Sawyer several times, and lost to him only once, and then Sawyer never beat Ash in a match again. Also yes, Sawyer is Ash's rival.
Also when was Red a main character in the show? If you mean in the games, and Pokemon Origins, then yeah, he was a main character, but just not in the show. Also no, it would be pretty boring, because Main character wins the match again, as predicted, like several hundred times over.

Also, yet I'm not too fond of clichés, I prefer the main characters to actually have their dreams come true. Ash's dream was to be the best Trainer ever, no? Well, first off, he DIDN'T catch 'em all! The subtitle was Gotta Catch 'em All, so it's pretty much contradictory. I hate when writers don't follow their promises!
Also, why is Pikachu able to beat an Onyx? Dude! Last time I checked, electricity was no match for Rock or Ground Types! Viva GameShark!
And, I don't like the idea of Ash being 10 years old in every single season. There was an episode where it was his birthday, but he's still 10 anyway.
Why? Well because fuck logic!
Finally, I'm sorry for putting so much hatred in the last comment, that's because I'm sick of Ash being everywhere in the series! And they say Red is overrated!

Honestly, they should have replaced Ash by having Ash actually WIN a league for once. I'm not fond of what they did with Kalos. A lot of us WANTED Ash to win, just once. They didn't do that, despite literally having everything setting up for a win. I'm sick and tired of having him get far only to have him lose either by stupidity on his own end or, worse, a Deus Ex Machina. One game league victory, that's ALL we asked, that Ash win just ONE measly league. But no, thanks to Hidaka claiming the series was over if Ash ever wins a league (which makes little sense considering Ash won the Orange League and that never stopped him from continuing his journey), he CONSTANTLY has to humilate himself and barely get much farther in his goal, IF he even gets farther at all. Even if Misty was still with us, I'd STILL want that, mostly because I don't like Ash having to lose repeatedly, even when everything pointed against him losing, especially in Kalos where not even marketing for a new game was an excuse to have him lose due to their getting rid of the Pokémon League in Sun and Moon. A lot of fans, even those who actually LIKED the series after the original series, wanted him to win just for once, and have it actually stick, and not treated as a black awful joke. I also utterly hate how Ash and Pikachu constantly regresses, thus making all their achievements meaningless.
And for the record, I'm not a Genwunner. Yes, I think the Original Series ultimately has more merit than the later series, but I'm still not a Genwunner, because I saw Kanto, the first generation in other words, as being very flawed, requiring definite fixings. If anything, I thought Johto and the Orange Islands were better done, meaning if anything I'm a Gen-Two'er at least regarding the Anime, since the Original Series composed of both Generations One and Two, something that people tend to forget (and is the ONLY series to be dedicated to more than one generation. And one thing Johto has beat out of all the other regions, future series even, is that Ash actually IS depicted as a veteran, and he doesn't undergo level resets with Pikachu and making his competence take a nosedive even when there should be no reason for that to happen, and we can actually SEE within the same series Ash actually developing compared to the prior league, the closest he's ever gotten to actually getting consistent development. Not to mention Misty actually gets focus on her goal of Water Pokémon Master, and even Brock, who got started undergoing character rot thanks to not doing justice to his breeder goal as well as his getting a bad case of Glenn Quagmire syndrome starting with this series, at least managed to do SOMETHING with his breeder goal with that breeder convention, which is better than what he got in AG and DP.).

Origins didn't do it for me. It was just retreading Kanto again with the same character design based on Red. The only way I'd watch a full Pokemon series again is if they just start over with new characters in the next region. The Pokemon anime of today doesn't do it for me, I'm not into Ash's story anymore and I really want to see new characters rather then retelling the same story over and over again. I only watch Pokemon now for the Pokegirls. But beyond the girls I haven't loved the Pokemon anime in years.

The main character named Shinku Izumi who is an athletic person is sent to another world to be a hero by a princess who has dog ears and a tail. The princess' continent are having a war.... game with her childhood friend and her brother who have cat ears and a tail. The boy get's a ring that Can transform to different things and princess has one too (the rings are part of their history stuff) and the other continent has two too. In there they don't die on attacks (but demons could) but non important people turn into animal balls But the important characters lose their.... Clothes. There are also other kinds on their continents that has like bunny ears and tails, people with fox ears and tails (well You know the drift). The people are friends btw. In the end of the 1st season the boy loses his memory of that place But is soon returned when the princesses pet dog who has a summoning knife (or whatever it is) returns to him and gives him his ring and all. In the second season his cousin goes to there too to be other continents hero and Shinku's childhood friend goes with him and soon becomes a hero too to princess who has squirrel ears and a tail. Well theres some info for You.

I wouldn't be so sure. Alola has more water than land, which essentially means Misty if anything would have plenty to do if she were present. And quite frankly, she should have gone for Hoenn, that would have logically given her plenty to do with her goal.

Honestly, speaking as someone who utterly loathed Brock after AG and to a certain extent Johto turned him into a Glenn Quagmire clone (Kanto at least made him a good mentor and wise in various areas when a girl isn't nearby, not to mention a formidable trainer), if him returning means Misty returns, I'll tolerate it so long as they do one of two things for Brock if not both: 1. Cut the womanizing gag, or at least keep it to a bare minimum, and 2., actually place emphasis on his new Pokemon Doctor goal, and actually HAVE him using that goal and job like when a Pokemon Center is too far from where they are at so that at the very least, his goal actually GETS focus.
