Description As promised

Here is my very first watercolour tutorial that you've requested me.

and something I would like to say before you start

Make sure you have some tissue papers while you're working, This will helped you control the water flow, cleaning your brushes, etc.

and don't use only one water container, let's find 2-3 of them

one is for washing your brushes and one for mixed with paints.

If you use only 1 water container, the water will become muddy and give you some horrible dirty effects, ruin your precious work for all time.

And use the best quality brush you can afford.

Here's the link to my 2nd watercolor tutorial.

But I have a question, I have seen many jobs and most are made at its base with a blue pencil ...
this is special? or I can use one either, as if we were talking about a school color?
O has a specific name?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kanille-Hime In reply to Kawaiioza [2010-08-19 17:49:37 +0000 UTC]

Um, I might be wrong, but I think blue pencils are used because when you scan the drawing the lines won't appear. So if you draw a comic you can scan the inking without erasing the pencils lines behind. The most known brand is "Col-erase" I think (= .

Well the fact is that I live in Mexico and are almost no places where you can buy, almost nobody knows them, and find a shop Specialized in art and design is rare here, but I keep looking. Thanks! X]

What kind of paper do you use? I've tried basic copy paper but it doesn't handle all the water that well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KaedeAngel In reply to Cicilicious [2010-07-12 23:53:24 +0000 UTC]

Basic copy paper will never work, well that's not true but its very very difficult. It isn't meant to handle work like this- it's too flimsy as I'm sure you've noticed and will have that awful effect of paper being rubbed away if too wet. There is watercolor paper it is strong, absorbent, and has a distinctive texture; you could probably pick some up from Walmart if you wanted to. <3

I have one question: Do you wait for the paint to dry, then color again? Because your lines are so crisp, and everytime I try and paint immediately after, the lines smudge. But this is an excellent tutorial! Thanks!

Is the technique you use wet on wet or wet on dry? wet on wet always makes it so blurry and yours is very clean and "hard"
