RNG HORSE ENCOUNTER

You opted to lie to the filly, denying her the truth of the actual fate of her mother. Though, she seemed to be okay with not knowing with all her prancing around Loki and 'Soot-Snow.' Upon reaching the coast, you inhale the scent of ocean water and salt, the sand shifting under your hooves. Both Runa and Loki have delved into playing in the sand, kicking it up at each other and racing each other through the shallows of the water. There are horses here, indeed, though you know that her mother is not among the equines here. Instead, you are approached by a gruff stallion, scarred and angry looking. He glares down at Runa who has shuffled to your side along with Loki before turning his gaze back to you. "So. The little runt is still alive," he snorts, stomping a hoof. "Such a shame that a mare like her mother failed to produce at least a strong filly." He sneers and you suddenly know exactly what happened and who he is from the words he speaks. Well, this is a sticky situation. What do you want to do?

1. There is absolutely no way you're risking your neck for this foal. Let him have her, he can do as he pleases as he is her sire.
[b] 2. Stand your ground and protect the filly, even if you risk a fight with the stallion. (Count as claiming)[/b]
3. Immediately pick a fight with the stallion. How dare he talk like that in front of Runa! (Count as claiming)

Whoever that stallion thought he was, he wasn’t going to harm Runa anymore. Hakon already felt his stomach twisting at the thought of the dead mare, Runa’s mother, and the likely victim of the horse before him. While he couldn’t fathom why her very own sire would have sought to harm her or her mother, he certainly wasn’t going to let him get a second chance at the little filly.

He moved to block the other stallion’s path, Loki and Runa gladly hiding in his shadow as he stared the other stallion down. “Yes, she is alive, and she is strong, something you fail to see. Her size doesn’t matter, and perhaps if you were a better father, she wouldn’t be so small.” He snorted quickly, letting his words sink in. The other stallion of course just shrugged the insult away.

“Be that as it may, she’s not of your concern. -Come Runa.” The stallion ordered, turning his attention to the meek form watching from around Hakon. While his words seemed innocent enough, Hakon could see the mal-intent behind his eyes. The little filly ducked away as her father called, obviously not fond of him, nor of the frightening expression he wore. Loki licking her face in reassurance as the two went to quickly slink away towards the crowd of horses, safety in numbers after all. The stallion looked angered by this, making his way to pursue the small foal, only to be interrupted by her current caretaker.

Hakon was fed up with this horse, his bull-crap excuse for killing her mother, and more so his attempts to keep attempting to harm her. With little warning, he’d closed the space between himself and the stallion, slamming shoulder against shoulder to push the aggressive horse off his course. The larger stallion quickly recovered, barely offering the roan a moment to challenge, “You want her, you go through me!”

While the idea was momentarily amusing, the rival stallion let out a sharp and hateful laugh, “Through you, huh? Don’t mind if I do.”

He too then reached out to attack Hakon, managing to snag a mouthful of the roan’s mane, yanking him violent to the side as he attempted to rear up and kick. The maneuver was successful enough as he landed a sharp jab to the smaller stallion’s side, but Hakon wasn’t giving up, and while the other stallion was rebalancing he latched his own teeth onto the other’s neck.
