I seriously have to stop staying up until four in the morning to finish drawings...So, this would be the Kumi picture that I said I was working on in the previous drawing. I'm much happier with Hahona's body now; it looks a little more stocky, which is what I was going for. Let's all collectively ignore the background, though.
Anyway, Hahona teaches Jahari the magic of healing through thorough touching and lingering glances while Kumi unwillingly collects firewood/does menial work that the K'owahi elders have assigned to him so that he stays out of the way. Since Kumi is not a healer (magic manifests itself in different ways for everyone--the Ngoni Witches are elementalists, the Monks of Sekou are spiritualists and astrologers, the tribes of the K'owahi Islands are healers, etc.), he therefore can't join in on the lessons and the elders don't want him distracting Jahari from his training. Which is a shame, because Kumi notices that Jahari's lessons with Hahona are the only time Kumi's ever seen his best friend look nervous. Weird.

I have absolutely no idea what book/movie/etc. this is. However, the art was SO FREAKIN AMAZING I had to comment :3 Loooooveee the background. Could you elaborate on what the heck this story is tho pleases? ^^

Everything you need to know about Kumi (which is what my story is tentatively called), is right in here .
The basic gist, however, is this:
Kumi (the guy in the back) and Jahari (the guy in the blue) are trained warriors taken from their home country, the Southlands, to fight for their enemies in the Northlands. Kumi, however, is a terrible warrior, but the one thing his is adept at is magic, which is unfortunately forbidden by the Northlanders. The story itself is basically Kumi and his Perfect Soldier best friend, Jahari, traveling to the Southlands so that Kumi may better understand his magic and its origins. (Along the way there's probably a war brewing or something between the Northlands and the Southlands, but I haven't thought that far ahead in terms of mapping it out, yet.)

LOL! Up in the Northlands of Adaeria. As the story progresses and Kumi and Jahari travel further south, they see less and less Adaerians (white folk).

In this case, because I like the contrast of the big, manly, confident Perfect Solider being 1) A healer, 2) A know-it-all, 3) A sidekick, and 4) Into the mens.

Well, thank you! It was part to make it look cool, and part because I was tired of trying to make it detailed and just said, "Screw it! Gaussian blur it is!"
