I'll admit I like the movie but I had one issue with it... I HATED HOW HE DID SOUNDWAVE! DX Soundwave was suppose to be badass instead he's taking orders from humans. DX I say Soundwave superior. Oh well it can't be helped right?

To me this movie was an improvement over the second one. I mean c'mon there's somewhat of a plot here. But the only (or a couple of) thing(s) I did not like was how the newer Autobots never got that much of a spotlight. The times that Sideswipe, Dino, and Que actually talked was only about a handful compared to Optimus, Wheelie, and Brains. Sad. Also most of the major baddies were toooo freakin easy!
Now I don't know about you, but I'm not the biggest fan of the Bots being in the background most of the film. (Hell ALL the films)/ If I wanted to see a movie that had romance, I would watched something else. I came to these movies to watch giant alien robots beat the shit out of each other!! (That's just me though)
These comics were freaking hilarious because they're soooo true!

W-Why was Optimus' character so horribly mutilated? ;; I wonder if Peter Cullen questioned Bay's characterization of Optimus at all during the recordings.
In all honesty, I think it was an improvement from the second movie. But it's kind of hard to not top the second movie, so that's not saying much.

I thought the movie was a horrible disappointment. So many things made me almost leave the theatre while it was still playing. I also found that Carly had no character, she only really came out when she called Megatron a bch. At least Mikaela had some personality, and at least her 'zoned out stares' had more intensity then Carly's. That, and Carly's lips scares me. Especially since I need to lip read to follow the dialogue. /nightmares
I want an actual TRANSFORMERS movie with no humans. Or if they must use humans they should be used very sparingly, like detatched support characters.
The only thing I liked from that movie was that awesome worm/drill. Shockwave also looked badass, but he didn't have enough screen time for me to really get a grasp of his Bayformer character.
I wonder what the heck Bay smoked when he fubbed Megatron's and Prime's personalities :/ And damnit Sam, wft eyes-being-a-weakness, NO STARSCREAM!, etc ... ugh.

well, if you don't care how the bots themselves are characterised, and don't mind the gratuitous amounts of crude jokes and cliche human love story, then you have no reason to dislike it. It depends what you want out of the movie. Liking it is fine, but the reason we don't is because we thought there should have been better handling of the Transformers themselves as characters. That amoung other things, anyway.

"Suicide Prime" has been upgraded to "Homicide Prime" in my book. Just reading about what happens in movie made me sick, and decide not to see it.
So, if the Autobots have become like this, then why does no one question the war on both sides?
And I understand why people hate the humans, but seriously: We (humans) have to put up with their shit in this franchise, we have a right to be annoying!

These comics and parodies are one of the reasons why I watched the movie, so I could completely connect to them.

I watched the second film with high hopes, but had those ultimately shattered thanks to Bay and his ridiculousness.
When news of the third movie came round, I had hoped that Bay would've learned something from the second.
He's human, people make mistakes, it isn't the end of the world. Even with a sucky sequel, the third movie could still be amazing if he worked at it.
Now I don't even know if I have the heart to watch this movie, even though I really want to, if only for the sake of completion. (And Peter Cullen's magnificent voice.)
Little to no personality for the entire cast, out of characterization moments, plot holes abound; just how low do I have to set my standards to go watch this anyway?
I don't know why I'm supposed to care for the humans. Why the bloody hell do I want to watch a movie centered around humans when it's specifically boasts to have alien robots? If I wanted to waste money on a human main character, then I'd watch something else!
My God, was it so hard to give the rest of the "stars" personalities? GIANT ALIEN ROBOTS are a lot more cooler than whiny puny human loser. Why the hell are we not focusing on them and cutting the humans altogether?
WHY DO THE SCREENWRITERS AND BAY NOT REALIZE THAT WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR HUMAN OCs?
How's Carly compared to Mikaela? From what I gathered, she isn't much of an improvement. Once again, a total shame, seeing as I liked Mikaela from the first movie, before she dissolved into little more than eye candy.
Where's that awesomeness from the first movie? It was the reason I was introduced to Transformers in the first place; and to see the state of the movies are heading towards make me very sad inside.

Oh my, I LOVE your comic! You summed up the whole movie perfectly with these entertaining pages. I totally agreed with you about all those ridiculous parts in TF3. Apparently all Bay cared was how much money this movie could sell, which caused all the OOCness of the robots and numerous plot holes.

Someone did a really good fancomic explaining the breakdown of plot logic over the course of the three movies.
It involves Optimus and Megatron chatting during their final fight, and Prime's like "Wait, you needed me dead so that the Fallen's plans could go through in the second movie, but for this movie you needed me alive to bring Sentinel Prime back to life?"
And Megatron is like "Eh, Yeah, I kinda work on the fly."

Finally, someone else who NOTICED these problems and didn't just gush about how awesome this film was. I seriously dont know how so many people are praising this film, mainly because of many of the points you outlined that they all seem to be ignoring.
I think some people are so desperate to like this one after the second one that they ignored a lot on purpose just so they wouldn't mar their own enjoyment T.T I still maintain Bay fucked up, there was as much bad about the film as there was good, Bay didn't really learn his lesson at all.

I went into this film EXPECTING problems, and who would have guessed, Michael Bay DOES deliver when your expectations are negative.
My favorite part of the second movie was the Forest Scene, as I feel that is the only scene where Bay got Prime's character remotely right (fighting to the last breath to save a human friend, no matter the cost of physical pain to himself).
And yeah, I agree. After the letdown of the second movie, people were desperate to find something, ANYTHING, good in this movie, so much so that they blinded themselves to the plot holes, character derailments, etc.
Bay THOUGHT he learned his lesson because people complained about the Autobots being so passive in battle. He changed it by giving us the Wreckers, who gleefully dismembered an injured Decepticon, and Kill-Em-All Optimus who rips off people's heads.

Ugh, exactly, that's how i went in too. I kept my expectations low so I wouldn't be dissapointed and I was STILL dissappointed.
Don't get me wrong, there were parts I really liked that made me laugh, but in the overall I was unsatisfied, because SO many of the Bot's personalities just smacked of wtf to me.
I mean, Ironhide goes and NO ONE of the bots says a word of mourning? How many millions of years have they known him, and NOTHING? I don't buy the whole 'they mourned him by fighting super fiercely and being angry at the cons' because thats Bullshit, and it's poor filmic technique to make the audience have to assume important details about long running characters.
The whole time, the impression i got was 'we only care about the human characters getting properly developed and making sense, we've given the robot writing to a couple of teeny bopper boys who don't actually know the characters and don't care. Oh, and who have no idea how to characterise, but no ones really caring about the robots as if they had FEELINGS right? They just want cool fights and explosions.'
Doubly hard for me to take since I invest so much of my time as a writer of TF fiction on characterisation and making sure all my emotional responses and motivations make sense. I get so much joy out of the variations of personality between the Bot characters and exploring their motivations that this movie was like a slap in the face.
The worst part is there's no REASON he couldn't have just let them have decent characterisation. It wouldn't have hurt the film's marketability. Wouldn't have hurt his precious human characters. Woud have given the fans a level of true satisfaction. But no. Apparently Bumblebee and Optimus took up all of their personality depth budget.
And dude, turning Megatron into nothing but a plot device... that's just LOW.

Praise this film? You have GOT to be kidding me? We've been using it in school as an example of about every single thing wrong with film, art, and the human race--its just THAT BAD. I knew it was a bad sign having to explain why to that one person on my DevArt page why this movie was ridiculous. I mean, how can people not have figured it out when whatthehellever person said that when they continued the series, they were just going to keep going with what Bay left them with and they didn't give a crap about what the fans said? That's a pretty sure sign of the fact that people are being handed crap and they're just taking it---sort of like an abusive relationship.
