Description
Mhh, i discovered an error in the previous pic, but now i had allready changed light effects (please view it in fullview, it looks pretty nifty now and is less boring litIn case you wonder, the concrete was reflective as well, leading to a difference in concrete textures across the board, guess it was a minor thing, but i can not let that stand on my first properly uw mapped building.
Also i removed the bump strength one notch, and fixed a wrong normal map on the door (geez)
I can not change the original submission because i linked to that pic someplace else allready, oh well.
So here it goes, skyscraper clone from 1 submission before, now better sci-fi'ish lit
LCD owners beware, this pic will probably look way too bright and orange on your screens.
PS.: Please don't hit me for low poly building spam!

Hey man this looks cool. Don't know if you ever played Crackdown on the Xbox 360 but this could be something straight out of that game. You were able to climb the buildings in that game, as so kinda super advanced/super hero/super cop. Very cool.

Well the original version is concrete, i think it would equally cool in some steel optic as well. To be honest, that depends on how shader heavy the game engine is.
But yeah, textures are easily changeable

looks Ok, but I kinda liked the reflective brick look from the other .
Yey for multilighting setups! Woot! lol. Your right though, on my LCD its a TAD to orange.
Hmm you should make/link to a good Tutuorial on how to do texture mapping... becouse you did it pretty damn well!

Hah, no no, theres plenty of good unwrapping tutorials for c4d...
Its actually insanely easy to do, so easy that i wonder why i never did it before this way heh. It certainly improves the end result alot

just one of many, google has a lot, but you do need bodypaint, not a standard feature

It's like Neo-Gothic New York style. A mix of 1930's and sci-fi.

Now it just needs to be black and white then!
Yeah, yeah.. not gonna do another submission of this PARTICULAR building, if you know what i mean (my previous journal said I'm going to spam with low poly buildings a bit didn't it ?
I have a lot more ideas for buildings, but time investment of 2 hours for unwrapping .. and i am not particularly happy with all the distortion going on either.. so a redo is still in progress, won't submit that one though

Well put it in your scraps or something. I like to look at your buildings. I'm sure others do as well.

Looks pretty good.
Not the shiny pretty type of scifi tho.
More like the dystopic, bladerunner or johnny mnemonic style of building.

Actually the project I'm doing this for wanted a shiny type of sci-fi, it just turned out that I'm way better at making dirty buildings than clean ones..
Now what does that say about me.. i wonder
