Description

It always rains here
Somehow, I find myself drifting back home
It seems I could never run far enough away from my fear
and every path leads me back to you
Would you welcome me with open arms?
or would you deny my friendship again?
Would you find it in your heart to forgive?
Or would have I wasted my breath again?
There is something that surely feels unfinished,
...my dearest friend...
as incomplete as time itself.
Might you remember who I am?
or might you prentend we've never met?
Might we overcome our mistakes?
or might we pass eachother by like strangers on the street?
Looking forward,
...I only want to turn back...
I feel so unwelcomed here
...I blamed you for so long...
and it always rains here
Must we ignore the words that should be said?
or must we discover how pathetic we really are?
Must we go on wishing things hadn't turned out this way?
or must we never even bother...?
I didn't want to return to this place again
I've spent my life running from here
but I find myself swayed back in your direction
Would I do everything I could to make things right?
Surely, I would...
Might I make the same mistakes again?
I just might...
but must I let my pride get in the way of how I feel?
I really couldn't...
and I mustn't...

This is the only scarecrow I've ever seen that actually touches "scary". Excellent work!
And the poem beneath it is beautifully written. I can feel the weight of the words and the speaker's emotions.

This is actually quite an impressive piece. I particularly enjoy how you've added prose to your piece, since I am working on a portfolio project like that, where there is prose or poetry to accompany a piece. I would like to see more like this! I have seen a few more pieces like this in your gallery. Keep up the wonderful work!

Thank you. I actually had edited this one to have more contrast and then my old computer crashed and I couldn't recover it. So the only version I have is this lo-res.

I hate when that happens! With today's digital world, it's just so risky... People stand to lose so much, especially when it comes to art I'm so sorry to hear that it had to happen to you.

Well, at least you have this And it's still fantastic!

Well, same thing happens with a painting stored in a house that burns down. I'm ok with not having the actual anymore. As long as I got a version up to display I'm happy.

True enough, though at least a house burning takes a little bit more time and is a bit more dramatic than a 'beep'...

And I'm sure we're all happy with it to

Hey, haven't seen you around in a while, eh? Nice to see a new dev. I like the frightmare factor of it (scarecrows can be...erm...scary) and the time of evening makes it that more ominous. Reminds me of Jeepers Creepers 2, despite the fact I haven't seen that movie.

as usual.

that's a really vivid piece you have there..
parched and barren, devoid of life, abandoned .. its really detailed and its got a great atmosphere.
i do like the words you've chosen to attach to it... particularily the contrast i see in the first line "it always rains here" whereas it does (to me) seem so parched
anyway i'm rambling. very nice piece ^.^
