This Earth-like planet in a fictional solar system is orbited by a lot of moons that frequently eclipse the sun of the system. In such events, the local predators emerge from their cloud cover to go harvesting.
The cloudscape was created using some of my photos taken on a plane trip between Germany and Italy, with the addition of a photo from the NASA image library. The flying dragons are mostly a blend of snakes, alligators and bat wings. As always the elements are tied together with plenty of overpainting. Hope you like it!

I was on a plane earlier earlier this year - the first time I have been on one in several years (I don't travel much) - there was a cyclone hitting the area I was headed towards. I was hoping that would make for some interesting cloud formations, but nope - mostly what looked like a grey fog the whole way

Oh yes - when someone else gets the window seat and they spend the whole trip looking down at their phone or even sleeping, I think to myself "ugh, what a wasted view!"
On an unrelated topic, what would ask for if someone was willing to pay you some money to use your work to promote certain stuff over the holiday season. Someone asked for one of my Christmas-themed pieces but it never seems like I ask for what my work is worth out of fear of overcharging, so I figured I'd get the opinion on someone whose work is pretty much similar to mine in terms of quality and such. I don't know what they're promoting, but they did mention the work would be used online, in printed format and even maybe on TV

Lol, well - the V part was a maybe. They are promoting something having to do with travel in the Maldives (seeing how it's one of my tropical-themed pictures they're interested in)
