This Earth-like planet in a fictional solar system is orbited by a lot of moons that frequently eclipse the sun of the system. In such events, the local predators emerge from their cloud cover to go harvesting.
The cloudscape was created using some of my photos taken on a plane trip between Germany and Italy, with the addition of a photo from the NASA image library. The flying dragons are mostly a blend of snakes, alligators and bat wings. As always the elements are tied together with plenty of overpainting. Hope you like it!

Thanks man! Yes, it's happening once a year and basically you just send over your wallpaper and hope it's accepted. The next one will be in one year from now I guess. Many artists are invited via email but in principle everybody can contribute whose work meets a certain quality standard (which I'm sure you do). You can simply get in touch with the owner Pete Harrison if you are interested, or maybe write them an email (info@desktopography.net)
