This Earth-like planet in a fictional solar system is orbited by a lot of moons that frequently eclipse the sun of the system. In such events, the local predators emerge from their cloud cover to go harvesting.
The cloudscape was created using some of my photos taken on a plane trip between Germany and Italy, with the addition of a photo from the NASA image library. The flying dragons are mostly a blend of snakes, alligators and bat wings. As always the elements are tied together with plenty of overpainting. Hope you like it!

Nowadays they only roam the skies, but they look like they came from great oceans at some point.. so.. everything is plausible. :-P

Nice stuff. The skin of the "snake dragons" almost look metallic, or like gemstones perhaps. Beautiful reflections there. Cool piece overall. Does trigger your imagination!

Wohl wahr ... manche US-amerikanische Serien benutzen ja auch Konzepte, die schon vor Jahrzehnten Bestandteil deutscher SF-Romane waren
