Description
I've been painting like a beast because I got these audiobooks and I don't want to stop listening. Seriously – I've finished almost six paintings in three days! So, since I did a picture like this of Naruto and Kyuubi I thought I should do one of Gaara, too.
Acrylic on canvas.

If only the tailed beasts were that way during their childhoods then things would be a lot easier. Nice job! Also, out of curiosity, what audiobooks are you listening to while painting these?

Right? There would be a lot less angst! haha
The audiobooks are called The Hunger Games. Kinda like Battle Royale, if you've ever heard of that...

Yyup! Oh ok I've actually heard of that series but haven't read it yet. There's a movie of the first one in production now actually

Yeah, they're still casting from what I've heard. I'm looking forward to that, although, of course, you have to approach any book-turned-movie with a little skepticism... This is gonna be different for me, though, since I've actually read these books, whereas I never read Lord of the Rings, and only read the first two Harry Potter books, etc.

Agreed. I don't know where to start on describing how horrible the Eragon movie was. Oh, and the book "I Am Legend" was incredible; the movie not so much. But anywho I've actually heard that Peter Jackson made the Lord of the Rings better because he took out a lot of arbitrary writings from the books.

Oh agreed completely! My brother was really into Eragon so I took him to see the movie, and he complained so much on the drive back I thought I'd read it. I don't know how it's possible to leave out so many vital parts of a story! I mean, the girl who played Arya didn't even have pointed ears!
I actually didn't even know "I am Legend" was a book until recently.
Oh, and yeah, of course you can't translate everything into movie form (especially with a book like Lord of the Rings), but it just really annoys me when they don't get details right – like someone's hair or eye color, for example. Or when they leave out scenes. I mean, a book is written a certain way for a reason – because that's how the author chose to tell the story. If I ever wrote a book that got turned into a movie, I would annoy the hell out of the director by actively participating in the process! Ha ha!

Yyup. I wonder if Christopher Paolini will even consider another movie after that train-wreck. It's a really good book that's only about a hundred and forty pages long that I highly suggest reading. I hear ya on getting the details just right-especially with the environment. The Lord of the Rings had the perfect environment because I read a bit of the books and was still blown away by how amazing the places looked in the movie. Lol if I wrote a book that were to be made into a movie I'd be sitting there with my own book in hand to make absolutely sure they get it down to the text

You did this with acrylics?!! *envious* Wish I could paint like that
Anyways, I do love it very much. I would have loved to see Gaara get along with Shukaku like Bee and the Eight Tails. It would have been quite interesting.

Yeah, he's lighter because of my camera. The coloring never comes out right in photos lol

Oh, no problem. The lightness of his coloring is due to my camera. I can rarely take a good picture, and the coloring is always off. Good eye, though!
