Description Part one of the tutorial is here: [link]

Finished earrings are here: [link]

Here's A tutorial detailing my method of making Link's fireshield earrings from The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword. After I uploaded pictures from the set I made for myself, There were a few people who expressed the desire to make their own set, and I thought a quick tutorial may be a help to anyone else who wants try it. Most of these materials should be available at almost any craft store.

The materials for these are inexpensive, and the steps aren't hard, but it takes time and patience to get the shape exactly right. Don't give up if your earrings don't look good right away. Keep working at it and they'll eventually look right.

It'll probably be easier than going through the Eldin Silent Realm, anyway! XD

I found the references for the earring shape here: [link] and here: [link]

I'm sorry for the large picture size, please download for fullview!

The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword and the design for the Fireshield Earrings belong to Nintendo.

In theory, it should. I haven't worked with air dry clay in years, so I don't really remember what exactly the differences are compared to polymer. I'm sure whether it would work or not depends on the type of air dry clay your using and it's properties, (consistency, durability, whether or not it's vulnerable to water, tendency to crack, etc.) Given all that, I'm not certain where points of trouble might be if you follow the tutorial exactly. You could always try it and find out?

@yami-becki
Even though the comment is a bit late, I have the same shield tin, and I got it from Borders. Although that was last year, so I'm not sure if they're still selling them, but yeah, it's a little candy case- very cute~

My boyfriend gave it to me a year or two ago, I'm not really sure where he got it from. It used to hold little mints, but now I use it for small jewelry items and such.

Thanks!

Hmm... I would have someone with water standing by before I tried that, if I were you! XD

I hadn't thought about doing the Water Dragon Scale! It doesn't look like it would be too hard, though. A mica shift technique would probably work well. I'll play around, and If I get it to look good, I'll make you a tutorial.
