This morning I swore to myself that I would make a conscious effort to find some things to photograph, that are just like my usual subjects, but with the letters/words belonging to another culture.Then, after lunch, I found this dumpster. I nearly squealed.
I expect to start taking some new stuff over the next couple of months. I'll be going into the city a bit more than usual.... so I'll probably be getting lots of street photos, with stencils and posters.... and I'll also get myself down to Chinatown, to see what I can find. I'm really looking forward to it.

Great Shot
I like how "raw" this is, sure you can take a great shot in a studio, but you can't get the same feeling from it. Knowing this exact setting it out there somewhere in the real world is what makes it great.

Funnily enough, last week I headed into Melbournes Chinatown...It was an interesting experience...There was this hilarious menu that someone had bastardised...I might post it just to scraps as its just a "snap" really, I didnt get any good shots...certainly nowhere near the calibre of this

I don't think they're different fonts though.... I know that in Japanese they have different types of writing, 'Hiragana' is more rounded, cursive and organic, 'Katakana' is a lot more angular and 'Kanji' characters are like pictographs and ideograms.
I think in China they also have different types.... the more boxy characters, and the more organic ones

the sharpness of the photograph is what makes this photo stand out... i see that close-up, photographic abstraction has become your favourite style... which is good, it's nice to see you are developing your personal style

this is really beautiful. Perfectly exposed to capture the textures and colors, the composition is balanced and everything that's happeninging in the photograph is crisp and pleasing to look at. wonderful photo

i can see why you might squeal. good find the way the characters and the curves on the tag seems to relate to each other. even the shadow of the paper seems to relate. :}
