Issue 10, Page 17.Since it's not much of a mystery, let's welcome a new character to the comic-- SCOURGE THE HEDGEHOG. Or according to my Tumblr, "Dia de los Muertos Scourge". Alternately, he was gonna say "I got a bone to pick with you" but I was afraid the universe might implode if I used a joke that bad.
This is gonna be fun.

Very nice! There was a rumor that one of the bosses in one of the first Sonic games was originally intended to be a skeleton hedgehog with a flaming skull; is he based off of it? Regardless, he looks awesome XD Love it!

You know, something just occurred to me. I was reading Old Flames again when I realized Silver was somewhat of a history nut. If that's the case, why doesn't he recognize Sonic, or Shadow for that matter? I mean, they're famous! Sonic is considered the role model for all Freedom Fighters, as well as their leader despite the formation of the Council and return of the King. Shadow's the sorta-kinda hero that sometimes runs with Sonic. You'd think he'd be mentioned in the history books.
And the proverbial light bulb went off. "I smell an up and coming Plot!"

You're right! I'll be going into they how and why of Sonic and Shadow's disappearance from history in upcoming issues.
Though quick note so you don't get confused later-- despite the Archie characters popping in, GOTF actually follows the games for Sonic and co.'s history. There are other reasons for the Archie peeps.

Well, Nicole was probably just too good to pass up, and Scourge? As far as I know, he's an Archie exclusive. But he's also kick-ass, an original spin on the evil twin idea. Kinda hard to do a Chaos Emerald focused story-line without throwing in the Multiverse/Zone Theory.

It's hard to explain...I never really liked cocky character (ehem, Dan Hibiki level cocky). I guess his extremely unoriginal design makes me hate him more than he...deserves...

You know Evan, the last time you blew my mind was when GOTF Nicole appeared in STH #238. I was like "Whoa no way! It's GOTF Nicole!" Gotta say you caught this Sonic Comics fan's attention.
