I like that Scourge didn't have a sudden change of heart, but there are more cracks evident. I, for one, hope to see more Vennie taking sense to him in the future.

I like this "my heart of stone is gradually crumbling" way of character development as well. It certainly fits Scourge; he's a Sonic, after all. Sonics just don't ever have sudden complete changes of heart/personality; it's probably one of the things they're the least fast about.
