Hopefully Scourge will not be reduced to a sympathetic villain who will eventually switch sides for the right reasons. His major attraction in this story so far has been the fact that he is the original Scourge who has a never-ending feud with Sonic and wouldn't accept help from him even if the entire world was at stake.

I"ve been wondering this but what's with Vennie's ball? I hope this isn't a repeat question you've answered before but why exactly has she been stuck with that chain and ball since she became a ghost, it is supposed to signify she is still weighted down by her body since she's not actually dead yet?

Yeah, the lantern is symbolic-- all the spirits have some sort of regalia that reflects their role and/or nature. It has some more meanings and uses, which'll come to light soon!

Wait, Scourge actually cared about Fiona?Β I haven't read the comics or anything, so please excuse me for being ignorant, but I've told that Scourge was a huge jerk and Fiona wasn't much better and that their relationship was rather... violent, despite the fact that they were supposed to be a couple.Β
As it stands, Scourge, you're going to need help whether you like it or not.Β The head-talking thing also explains how Scourge perfectly understood his masterΒ despite us only seeing "Rrrrrrr" for its dialogue.Β And Metal, now's as good a time as any to ask for legs.Β I mean, if not now, when?Β

Scourge was an abusive jerk to pretty much everyone in his life, including Fiona... but most of the abuse is subtext in the comic proper (being for all ages, of course), so the severity of it is debatable. Though their relationship was not totally healthy, it does seem that they did care about each other. GOTF Scourge is definitely suffering from a rose-tinted view of his past and regretting a lot of his actions in hindsight... He probably loves the memory of her a lot more than he actually loved her when she was alive, or more accurately he didn't realize how much he needed her until she was gone.
That's my interpretation at least-- with Scourge and Fiona there's a lot of stuff that was left unconfirmed.
