Ghosts of the Future, Issue 16 page 6.I wrote a lil thing on Patreon for this, so I'm gonna copy it over:
Ooh, here's Sonic's monologue. This page, and the idea it conveys, was pretty much the reason this story happened despite not being directly related to the overarching plot. It's very important to the kind of person Sonic is, and in the future, the ideals he's struggling to live up to. Also, it's a HUGE turning point for how Shadow sees the world, though it'll take him another couple centuries to really embody it.
Okida : Does this make Sonic the ghost of Día de Muertos past?
Evan: You will be visited by one ghost, because YOU HURT HIS FEELINGS

Oh god, I love this page. The monologue appears to strike a strong chord with Shadow and (as you wrote up) says a lot about Sonic's ideals and character. His "I don't care!" outburst really grabs ya, awesome.
(And Shadow's poor remorseful puppy look in the last panel.)

I've been seeing art of this comic for years and I've been wanting to read it. And for the past couple of days I have spent so much time in reading it from the beginning. It's so amazing that I'm finally on the newest issue! This is truly the best comic series I've ever read. The thought, talent, love, care, and emotion, and even MORE passionately worked into this series makes me laugh, cry and everything in between. I admire all of what you do in your art, and your art itself. I aspire to be like you someday. Thank you for giving us all the most beautifully crafted comic series in the universe.
I feel like I should say more, but then I'd be writing a book. To sum this all up; I love how you are and your art. You are truly a gift to the entire art community. ^u^
