[edit] I just realized that I didn't actually fix a few things when I did the finishing touchups so I edited the image to take out all the stupid parts.
Sorry!Just a little gifty for Ri-chan aka Leanne. She's a wonderful friend that I found to be a lot like me, but our differences make life interesting too. I'm glad I met her when I did, otherwise I don't think I would've survived through Japanese for this long, and I would've been far more anime-deprived than I am now. ^_^!
This is REALLY REALLY late, gomen! Her birthday was back in February, and that's when I started this drawing. I had to leave it as a sketch for a long time, and I didn't get to start working on it again until the beginning of June.
It's the thought that counts, right?This was sort of an experiment for me. The lips are way different from how I usually do them, and I kinda like them this way. A little on the realistic side, but not so much that it seems out of place in a drawing like this one. I also didn't use any lines outside of the face, and that is a major pain in Painter Classic. >.>;; Overall, I think I liked how this turned out.
PS. I didn't put the 'tan' part of 'tanjoubi' because I'm lazy, and I'm terrible at writing kanji on a tablet.. *sweats*

wow! very rinoa-like X3 i love this, the shading is especially cool ^_^ i think that the black line does kinda stick out in the midst of all the lineless-ness, maybe is you went over it lightly with a skin color so it'd be more brown?

I love the whole drawing!
Her hair and eyes make me think it's a gothic sort of gal.
The only thingie I don't like are the dark lines of the nose. Considering the soft lines of the rest of the drawing, they stand out too much and ,maikes the attention focus too much on the nose.
If you haven't done that, the focus of attention would be the eyes, and that would be great coz they look so expressive and real in a stylish way

You know what's really odd? I lost touch with Kyla for a few years, but I still remember some of her old stuff, and I learned from some of it. I was really surprised when I found her art again, and I was like.. "Hey, that's what I *want* my art to look like, but it never turns out that way..." o.O...
I need to figure out blending more in Painter though. ;_;

Very well done, Dev! The one thing I love about your style is all the seemless transitions from one form to another. Your digital painting is growing on me, for sure. I like the eyes though, simply because the yellow reminds me of Louis' eyes from Interview with a Vampire. I hope you take that as a compliment! hehe

i really like how you make it all so simply drawn, but very elegant and beautiful at the same time. The shading's subtle and not in you face blaring 'ph33r me' or such. she's well drawn and very pretty. cookies for you.
