Is this species indigenous to Skatha? Because I really want it to be.

So does it gulp fish? Or are those there because they live near the gulp feeder?

XD Hey what do Gapuri voices sound like? Deeper than ours because they are larger?

Their voices have a very wide range in pitch, they will speak with the mouth the way we do, but also with the throat the way parrots do. Often they will combine the two, so there are two layers of voice, the mouth voice and the throat voice. Mouth voice can sound vaguely human, and the throat voice can sound birdlike. Lots of clicking and warbles and things like that. Their language can get very complicated as the combination of different mouth and throat words can mean something entirely different.

Whoa neat. So can they imitate noises really well like parrots? And do they use their hands a lot while they speak?

They are pretty good mimickers, yes. And they do use their hands, they also use the rest of their body to speak with as well as their tendrils.

I think the head looks a bit too much like terran whales...but maybe thats necessary... Nice design though C: I like filter feeders.

Perhaps, but I see it as a practical head design. I may tweak him a bit later if I feel it is necessary, but I think the rest of his body makes up for his Earth like head.

It allows the animal to keep an eye out above, below, infront and in behind all at the same time

I love the mouth mechanics but I don't understand how the filtration works.

Hm, should probably take away filter feeder xD *hurr durr* These guys aren't even filter feeders, they are gulpers...I went on auto pilote haha, thank you for pointing that out.

I though as much, the gulping mechanism is very intuitive.
Also, with the split jaw and cheek membranes, these guys could probably spit rather powerfully. Perhaps a shallow-water cousin living in rivers and lakes could use the ability to spit powerful jets of water as a hunting mechanism or weapon?
The Archerfish uses a similar technic, though a pore powerful jet could probably have more interesting results.

I imagine that that would certainly be a possibility, I also think that a water vacuum would work well too, similar to some catfish.
