Description Real Name: Reina (last name unknown)
Aliases: Flair (Stage Name)
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 120-ish lbs
Eyes: Blue-green
Hair: Violet
Age: 19

Background: An orphan and runaway for much of her life, Reina was a street urchin, pickpocket, and grifter during her teenage years. One day in Angel Falls she picked the wrong (or right) pocket of a woman who easily caught her. Named Rain, the older woman was a master of illusion magic. She also was the owner of a performance club in the city, where she acted as a stage magician. Rain gave Reina a job, a place to stay, and trained her in the magic of showbusiness - and illusionary magic, though Reina is much better at the former than the latter.

Personality: Life is a stage, and Reina is the headliner. The world doesn't really revolve around her, but she might be able to convince people otherwise. She enjoys attention and praise, admiration and lust. Even if you hate her, it probably means you're just jealous, at least in her mind. With a dazzling smile, an amazing body, and a sweet, surprisingly cultured sounding voice, she can charm her way through most problems. Of course she's also quick witted and at good as lying as she is at showing off in a glamorous, figure-hugging dress. Which is to say: very, very good. Beyond being highly skilled at acting, she is fantastic at reading people's body language, voice, mannerisms, etc, to figure out what they want, even if they don't know it themselves. At her heart she is still a grifter, though not a malicious one and she no longer needs to steal to survive.

No matter how warm and open she may seem on the outside, inside she is wary, calculating, and used to neither relying upon nor trusting anybody other than herself. Keeping people at arm's length, even when they are wrapped around her finger, is second nature to her. Rain is so far the only exception to this.

Powers: Reina is an illusionist. Most of her powers are actually a result of her being a meta-human, and take the form of manipulating a person's senses. She can alter or "enhance" perceptions, such as making her own hair look a different color, increasing a whisper to a shout, or a car seem further away than it truly is. She primarily uses this to tailor her appearance to whatever she thinks will be most useful. These illusions are capable of causing the sensation of impact or pain, but lack any actual force and cannot inflict damage beyond psychosomatic.

A more difficult power for her is to create solid illusions, known as constructs, using actual magic. Each construct must be mentally designed ahead of time, and she uses a magic wand (or a staff, she's really not sure which) to give them physical form. The wand(staff?) belongs to Rain, and Reina is only allowed to use it as Flair when doing performances or practices. In a pinch she could use a non-magic wand(staff/turducken) to give substance to a construct, at the cost of seriously weakening it. These constructs almost always take the form of living creatures of her own imagination, and while she can re-use the same ones, she has to redesign them after every conjuration.

Flair, or at least Reina, appears in Part 1 of the Shell Games story: fav.me/dbgdbcn

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it too. As shown in the first part of Shell Games, however, her tendency is to avoid trouble, not to intervene, so it's not quite as easy to show her off as it is for proper superheroes.
But your comment has not only inspired me to try, but it has helped give me an idea of how to do that. Hopefully I'll have another Flair render and chapter of Shell Games out by the end of today!

Ahhh, So she relies on deception of both wit and power to get by, interesting.

Yeah. The illusion powers she gained/learned how to control the last few years pretty much enhance what she was already doing before.
Hopefully I'll write a story with her in it soon.
