I love how "Dash was training" is automatically assumed to communicate "Dash got herself injured."
The personalization of each note was excellent.
Nice trick, using a convenient cloud to put Pinkie in dramatically depressing shadow despite the otherwise cheerfully sunny day.
I also noticed the curly lines in her hair becoming straight lines and angles, and that leaf that shows up three times.
I see that the blue bird hadn't actually gripped the branch before the explosion; he wasn't exploded into confetti, he was simply blown away.

I can only guess what any of this means. Such as why the Sad Pinkie is life-size rather than small like the flying ones, or why there are dull and ragged feathers falling around her.
The one thing that isn't clear enough to interpret is the panel in which she notices the string that leads to Sad Pinkie. One of the skyward strings is pulled taught with action lines that imply suddenness. There might be other rising strings that snapped and fell, but it's hard to make out.
And there are three pink things which might be the tip of her tail wagging, or falling suddenly from a loss of tension (as from taught/snapping strings).

Anywho:
The third leaf you see is actually a feather
"Sad Pinkie" and the flying pinkies are all the same size, as indicated by the eighth to last panel where she looks up at a group of them. The smaller ones are simply farther away.
The panel you're describing is the one where she noticed her tail twitching (In Pinkie Sense terms, it means stuff will fall from the sky) and yes it is shaking because it's being tugged on by the taught string. It was a difficult message to convey visually but basically the panel is meant to show that having noticed the twitching tail (presumably being pulled by a flying Pinkie,) Pinkie also noticed the string on the ground, which lead her to discover the flying pinkie that had descended from the sky (a means of conveying sorrow, as being down or fallen,) hence the feathers that fell off around her. Sorry if it wasn't clear for you.

Oh hey, that makes a lot of sense.
There are just too many details to comment on. Like how the first sight of the sad Pinkie is shaded by an off-screen cloud, constrasting subtlely against the ambient brightness.
Or like how instead of a sheet of paper, Applejack used a chalkboard, which can be re-used again and again and again.
Totally missed the one about the green leaf turning into a green feather.

Goodness, this one looks AMAZING. I almost forgot about this series entirely, but I'm so glad to see that you haven't- lest an idea waste away to foggy memories.
But boy am I anxious to see what you do with Applejack. I'm sure you've gotten more than a handful of people cheering for the next one, for whoever is their favorite; but seeing your take on our rowdy Earth Pony pal's take on free time intrigues me more than seeing Twilight relaxing for a change, or Fluttershy doing whatever calms her nerves. And with your artistic style, I'm sure whatever you decide for the other three will turn out fantastic. Keep up the great work!

Honestly, after finishing a comic I only spent about ten to fifteen minutes trying to sum up my feelings of it into a little quote. After working on the same piece for a month or three I think you sort of already know what you're going to say about them. I am always hunting for good takes on the Mane Cast in their off hours, and this entire series has been a joy. But this is probably the strongest take on the essential Pinkie that I have ever encountered. I will be looking forward to the rest of the series.
