I believe its from Sonic 06 a game I refuse to play. I was handed some concept art and given about two weeks to complete this model using my spare time.
I can't give you renders of the image because of an agreement I have with Blue Core Studios but you can use the image because its part of my portfolio, just give me a mention. Its originally Sega's design so I can't take full credit.

A honestly, film is terrible even for fanfilm. Look the mario fanfilm [link] and compare. The same effects but looks a better.

I liked the Mario fan film when it was called Equilibrium hehe. It was good but I know they are crowd funded, I could compare it to Equilibrium and call the fan film crap compared to it. But I'm not like that, I know they are trying to do something different with whatever money and time they have.
It is not the same effects. And even if some people may not like the Fan Film I have alot of pieces on my portfolio that I am proud of as a result of the collaboration.

I understand your frustration, I have the same. I wish I had been aboard at an earlier time, I wish we had been funded so that we can concentrate on it instead of working on other things. But I'm pleased with it and considering it was 3 artist on their spare time working for free it came out well. I like Sonic being pushed by fans, maybe Sega can be inspired to do more with the character. This may not be the final version of the film also, everything regarding the 3D aspects and effects can be worked on from what I heard. But again, its during spare time, and I'm not 100% about that. I do hope they have the time and fan support to put out a refined version.

No, but I worked with that specific model. I did create Knuckles.

The Knuckles model was alright actually, the fur on him was much more how it should've been for Sonic. Just one question, now I'm sure you get this a lot but were the fingers intentional?

When I was asked to create Knuckles I only had the month of December. I didn't have much free time either, December is always crazy. I asked if he should have fingers or mittens, they told me fingers. I was glad about that cause I always envisioned that Knuckles had fingers under those gloves.
There was no fur on Knuckles only a broken up fur like texture that I ripped off the Sonic model. I Custom made the hair texture but we didn't have time to apply the hair/fur system.
Also after Knuckles was submitted it was changed slightly in body shape and the kuckles, the original Knuckles had a metal cover over his knuckles, they decided to scrap the idea at the last moment.
I'll release my version of Knuckles soon. (once I get permission)

Honestly, Eddie telling you to give him fingers was a really silly decision, yes he has fingers but only under those massive mitts of his. I'm glad that the fur/hair system wasn't applied to Knuckles. I reckon Sonic would've looked great with the custom made hair texture but the sculpted fur is just too much. I look forward to your Knuckles release because we finally get to see that face of his! So for your existing models, do you charge for downloading any models from Sonic or are there any restrictions? Because I'd love to get a closer look at them.

The models are of Blue Core design, technically Sega owns the characters so I can do whatever but as a Freelance artist I wouldn't do that to a partner or client. I have a reputation to consider. I wish there was more I could show, for instance the buzz bomber had these metal panels that opened up and he had these round bombs that fall out one at a time, I textured all that but never saw it in the movie. The future egg carrier's front opens up like some sort of dinosaur mouth and thats where its drones come out for.
People are going to freak out when they see the metal caps on Knuckles fists. And I'm pro fingers on knucles, its just a better design in my opinion. Guess I could go on and on about this.

Wow, the Buzz bomber and future carrier features sound well and truly awesome! The main reason I'm not pro fingers is that I feel that the goofy mittens represent how Knuckles is a bit of a clumsy oaf, breaking the master emerald over and over again. If he has fingers, he seems a bit more in control and serious. But then again, Sonic was a serious movie which I thought was the biggest downfall of the entire movie.

Yeah I designed knuckles from the Sonic model, its kinda like I took it apart and put it back together again (Humpty dumpty). I Put some nice textures on his shoes also and worked alot on his mouth and neither got shown 
I'll show it off in a couple of weeks.

It's a wonderful model. Could use some further detail if it was ever to be improved, but I like it a lot! (especially for the fact that it brings the classic Egg Carrier into the realm of Sonic 1)
