This is fantastic! This looks like it took you forever, it's hurting my head thinking about how may tiny little dots are in this piece.

Haha yeah, this one was probably the piece that took me the longest, I sort of stopped counting hours after a certain point >.< And I still don't really consider this one done, I'd really like to intensify the dark parts to up the contrast but I figure that I'd let it sit for a while haha!

The details are breathtaking, and I really like the colors you used in the piece!
Not a single dot is out of place, and the face is done really well!
I do think making the dots, especially around the lips, a touch darker just so that they can be seen better.
But overall, this is just a really fantastic piece! Great work!

Yeah, I do agree with you. I think there were kind of two problems with the lips. In the reference picture I was using they were pretty much invisible: [link] so I was trying to make them as dark as I possibly could without straying too far from the reference. Plus working with such a multi-colored and textured background makes any light shading almost invisible.
Overall with this piece, like I feel that it's complete, but I could probably keep working on it forever. I bet I could keep adding dots, darkening things, battle against the background, etc etc but I just felt like it was at a good place to stop. If I do decide to re-work it at any point though, I'll keep this in mind and touch up the lips a little bit more. Thank you so much for your helpful comment!

And I totally understand what you're saying. You gotta be careful, otherwise you're gonna go overboard with the shading and throw the entire piece off.
