Description Io is difficult when it comes t truecolor. It is a very colorful moon, but most pictures out there show a crazy color palette. It seems many pictures are made from IR-green-UV filter images, streching saturation. I tried to compensate for this and adjust the brightness, this is the result. It is a more subjective map in contrast to my Jupiter maps, but as realistic as I can get.

Do you have a tutorial on how to make those textures?

No... it's a lot of trial and error as well as calculation of the some data I can find. It's very specific to the texture but there are some common procedures I guess... it also depends on what goal you have in mind, like in my case to make the texture are close to truecolor as possible.

This texture is very close to Ugarkovic's photos too: (1 ), (2 ).

Looks good
When I looked for an even more reliable source for determining the true color of Jupiter, I found this site .
Your texture is very close in color to the result of this article!

Thanks
Nice, I have to take a closer look at this article. I couldn't find out which color filters were used for the source texture, so I assumed it was UV/green/IR. But it's a close match indeed

I have an idea.
What if you try to apply the same approach to Jupiter? This is a photo of Jupiter , shot by "Galileo" with the same filters as Io.
It is very interesting to look at the result  . (A small piece of comparison is in the background of Io in this photo .)

That's a good idea, but as far as I know Cassini already has RGB filters and there are a few amateur composites that show Jupiter in true color, like this one
