Honestly, I read some of those books and I didn't think it was that bad. The writing might have needed a bit of tweaking, but it wasn't a bad start until...

*achem* When I read it, I keep seeing all these one sentence paragraphs, not to mention the purple prose, that I KNOW my English teachers would have balked at. There are other problems, characterization and whatnot, that I would never have gotten away with in any of my English classes and here she's somehow popular with them.

I had a teacher rant about a comparison of writing between J.K. Rolwing and Stephanie Meyer. I really don't remember what she said, but I think she made many good points. XP
And now the world of badly written fanfiction just got a step closer in their beliefs that , "Hey! Maybe one day I can write something like this and get it published!"

Alucard from Hellsing is Count Dracula. Lestat de Lioncourt is from The Vampire Chronicles and he's a pretty vampire who has his own set of morals he goes on with.
