Photo: Arnold SciberrasScientific name: Rhinolophus hipposideros
status locally: Frequent
found in: Dormant in deep caves during winter, active in summer but during the day, in less deep caves and also in old abandoned houses.
diet: moths, mosquitoes, beetles and spiders
other info: start to fly an hour before sunset. 20cm wingspan in length. Samllest species of the family Rhinolophidae. another species of this family occur locally. in total, 15 species of bats were recorded locally.

Ive never tried to capture a bat, but i guess its one of the most difficult to do hehe. Looks extremely interesting . well done

they are usually scared from humans, but this one was so sleepy it didn't even bother to move
