I pity this poor dude. Every time I draw him he comes out looking nasty.In all honesty, I'm actually not very happy with the way this one came out...for multiple reasons.
1. I rushed. This was a birthday present for ~xxxfallenskyxxx and I had about five days to do this from scratch, because I was a lazy asshole and decided to start it at the last minute.
2. Usually I'm exceedingly strict when it comes to proportions and I don't sketch at all from the beginning. This time, I simply eyed everything, which is it looks quite odd in some places.
3. BIG mistake: my sketch was still a little vague when I first started coloring and I decided to leave my pencil marks and do the lineart last instead of first. The end result was that I can still see pencil lines underneath some of the light colors...FML.
4. I used a completely different coloring style and strategy as opposed to what I normally do. Didn't necessarily come out badly, but it's quite different than Soren's coloring job was. Almost more watercolor-ish than Copics normally are.

Is that copic markers I see? I don't think I'll ever understand how people colour so nicely on paper. I always ruin everything I try to colour traditionally...

My waters are luke-warm and about four inches deep at the moment. Pretty smooth sailing, but not really making much progress in any direction...

Touche, little one. In my defence, digital is much easier than traditional! I'll bet you wish you had an "undo" button on that pencil~

I must say that I thought I had beached for a while myself, but it seems it was just a temporary hindrance...life is chill at the moment~
M'dear, in the early years of drawing we all progress immensely. I've been drawing inconsistently for only two years now and while I have improved, there's no way I'm near your level by now. D:
The "undo" button is my eraser, of course~ However, it would be really useful to have some sort of removal device for Copics D: They're quite hard to handle properly.
As long as I learn how to apply the scientific process to my drawings - as in, learn to test only one new technique at a time - I might just progress beyond amateurism.
