Description
Windows Picture Viewer for XPSo I decided to improve it a little more
What's changed:
> Most new icons, extracted from vista programs and resized to fit the 16x16 size. All icons are correct and do a dedicated command (ie Save for Save, Rotate for Rotate etc)
> Changed titlebar text to "Windows Picture Viewer" instead of "Windows Picture And Fax Viewer"
> Added high quality cursors with + and - right on the icons.
> Imported "hand" cursors from photo gallery (with shadows)
> Fixed some icons in the image
> The main toolbar has a "mouseover" effect - the icons become a little lighter when highlited.
> No AVI file, DLL loads as fast as the XP default
> Fixed the rotate buttons, now correct position.

Yeah i got it working yesterday, i downloaded the Portuguese version and later couldn't remove it no matter how many times i tried to replace it. The solution was i had erase dllcache. That's why i thought there was no eng version.

Hey fediaFedia you forgot the Delete icon. It's still in XP style. The Vista icon is in the shell32.dll in the link, icon 132.

The reason I hosted it on Rapidshare instead of telling you to use your own shell32.dll is that mine has been patched by Vize to replace the old icons.

Well, I've been running and testing this Pic Viewer, looking for holes, down to script compilation, looking for a nag and f*ck me if I can find one.
This is fine work, Alex. In a moment of drunken foolishness, I backed up my V Service Pack !, installed, and ran into no errors.
You understand, of course, as a Letvu, you suck, (the attitude), but this effort gets two very enthusiastic thumbs-up!
Don't want to like you but I hafta.
Respect.

fediaFedia In reply to deuce6000 [2008-08-23 10:00:17 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, normally it is, but if you customize often, it's recommended to delete some files from there (dllcache restores stuff back to system32)

Where's the DLL cache? I think that might be a problem with my modified shell32.dll
But this mod of shimgvw.dll is rockin!

OK thanks. (I see it's in system32; where else would've it been? )
So those are backups of system files; if I delete any of those, will XP just complain, or will it start throwing a tantrum?

If you don't want those files restoring automatically every time you replace a dll, you should delete, or move them to some other folder.
