Description EDIT: January 18, 2014: Updated script to apply gradient map to active layer, linked layers, and visible layers.Β  Please delete the previous version of this script and download/install modified version.

This script quickly adds a "plastic wrap" effect to all layers in an image. The lower the setting, the more plastic effect added.

Download the zip file, open the zip file by double-clicking on it and copy/paste the script to your GIMP scripts folder (ie...C:/Program Files/GIMP-2.0/share/gimp/2.0/scripts). Refresh your scripts and you're ready to go. The script can be located under the Filters/Light and Shadow/Plastic Wrap All Layers... menu.

Let me know if you have any trouble or need additional information.

This plugin does nothing for me but fill the selection up with white.
It also does not wish to merge down inside of groups as it works outside of the grouped layers, so any active layer that needs to be worked on has to be put outside of its group while being worked on.

Sorry for the delay in responding. You don't open the script directly. It has to be put into the GIMP scripts folder (see the instructions in the script description) and then run from within GIMP.Β  Let me know if I can be of further help.

awesome
do you think its possible to make an animation like this, as a seamless version, so its tileable?

fence-post In reply to coreper [2010-02-07 17:06:11 +0000 UTC]

It's completely tileable already. I set it up that way just in case.
