Here's a rendition of "Hoshi no Ko Chobin" (Chobin the Star Child) from 1974.

I watched this when I was very young and absolutely loved it for some reason. The poor guy was looking for his mother (I remember feeling sad about this, too), while some badguy would send these eyeball bats after him. Don't know if I got it right, but if the bats failed, the badguy would pluck their wings off. I seem to recall a vat or pot of eyeball bats? And maybe the floor was littered with wings? in a cave... Oh, and Chobin's fabulous star watch... I wish I could've learned more about this (as well as other details of the show), but I guess it's too obscure. Wanted to know if there were any powers associated with the star watch.

When I was 5 or 6, or maybe younger, my mother and grandmother saw a art contest on t.v. for Chobin. I mailed one in, too, but my artwork wasn't one of the many showcased on t.v. after the cartoon show that one day .

This was another miracle title find over the net. Somehow, some guy was looking for the same title, too, and had the same overall description of the show. And thank the heavens, someone knew the title! hehe
