I've always imagined this match up in their robot modes and you have drawn it nicely and coloured it brightly. Good job!

Amazing picture! Great work! I really wish we could have seen this on the show. It would have been a great time to bring back Prime's axe.

thanks so much for your kind comments, and the fave! I'm not happy with my work so I'm still trying to improve... I may redo this pic
hehe, I agree, it would've been interesting to see some melee action in the 2nd season

YES! I just spent 2 whole minutes staring at the full size version. I love it! Thanks!
Where should I begin...first the sword, I like how it has a nice 3d effect in the hilt and how it dwarfs Prime's weapon! mwahaha
Next I noticed that Motormaster's colors and design are somewhat different than what I remember in the cartoon and sure enough I was right! [link]
I like your version a lot better. I don't know WHERE they got the colors and design for the cartoon one. Yours stays true to the toy for the most part, with some areas for personal preference. Interesting choice of blue for the foot windows and light purple where the yellow stickers are on the toy (yeah yellow wouldn't really fit Motormaster).
Poses...I like how they ring true because Motormaster would most definitely be the first to strike! Prime looks like he's calculating a block and a counterstrike.
Interesting style for the highlighting on both of their bodies! I've never seen highlighting like that but it works and it is eye catching.
Again, thanks!!

the sword - yes, I realized he uses the same sword Menasaur uses (I believe Menasaur also uses Motormaster's gun), so it has to be big! That's why I oversized Motormaster's arms and hands, too
That's interesting that you went and did the research on Motormaster's look. Your analysis is spot on. I was looking at a decent cartoon reference [link] (I think it was a well-drawn 3rd season one), so I do appreciate how they made him look rough and tough. Also they have to simplify in order to animate so it's ok. Well, the cartoon put two purple blocks on his chest, and I felt the toy's light purple face matched well with the other colors, so that's where I got the idea to put the light purple where the stickers are . The feet windows -- it should actually be an indigo, which I guesstimated from the toy ref pics as well... well, indigo is such a bluish purple, it will look blue I guess.
My coloring is terrible... The highlighting here is something I do but I haven't explored it as much as I should. Glad you liked it though. Basically I tried to go to a "simpler" block-shape shading here in this piece (as opposed to the softer gradual shading on Smokescreen). It still takes me forever, though!

Interesting back-thoughts on the sword being used by Menasor and MM thus the big MM arms.
Your coloring is bright and has a pop feel that I think most people like actually. Most people that look at my art (that aren't comic fans) say that my coloring is "dark" (figuratively and visually) and that I need to go see a therapist.

that's not true, dude! I like your "dark" style; and I think yours has its own style to it. I'm going to try and go darker, too ... As you can see right now, I'm attempting 100% digital art start to finish, but it has a weak feel to it... a little bit stiff, boring and childish. I'm still going to try 100% digital for a while, but ultimately may go back to scanning pencils if there's still no flavor.

Yeah 100% digital and 100% pencil/pen/paper are both necessary I think. But me, I think I'd ideally like to do 33% all digital, 33% all pencil/paper/pen, and 33% a hybrid of both.
