Harry Potter illustration.My niece requested to draw her favorite characters from Harry Potter books, Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Also added a random Slytherin cause the picture needed something to counterbalance the "busy" right corner.
References used for faces.

Not overly happy with two rightmost faces, but Harry's turned out alright. The thing I am most proud of though is the decorated cloth on the background. Apparently if you draw the pattern with color markers first and then start putting in the highlights and shadows with pencils, it will turn out realistically 3D while still retaining the brightness. Heh! (I am such an art geek!)

Thanks for the comment, Arwen. I have a couple more older HP-themed pieces in the gallery. Finishing another, slytherin-themed one, right now . . . if I ever manage to complete coloring, I will scan it in.

This is lovely! It's kind of a shame that random Slytherin isn't blond... ^_~ It's probably Marcus Fint or somebody, right?
The fabric in the background, and their clothes looks so realistic, like any second it's start billowing in the wind. Their expressions are wonderful. The shading and textures are so perfect! And I love the snitch in the foreground, I feel like I could reach out and grab it (but probably not before Harry does ^_~).
You are incredibly talented, I would love to see a tutorial sometime on your technique...This is just fantastic!

I drew the slytherin seeker by default, but my niece hates Malfoy with passion, so Draco got a quick makeover. I took liberties and decided that Zabini was a boy and a Slytherin chaser, so here he is.
I was thinking of putting a tutorial together -- will experiment with the technique a bit more beforehand.
