All sorts of interesting ideas here - the words, the old style books in the garden, in the sun ...

The fundamental composition works well - the upright books on the right line of thirds blocking in the rest of the image - they keep the eye in the image nicely.
The writing in the top third holds well there too.

The exposure/ processing is pretty well nailed, except for the far right edge, where the foliage seems a little lighter than the rest. This is something I would tend to even out in post, just to give the image a more uniform feel. The balance of highlight and shadow is well done.

I'm not sure what the October submission required in terms of theme, but the words and the books hold together nicely. What I found a little harder to figure was the books like this in the garden. The books have a sense of value, that is exposed and at risk here - one doesn't keep books in the dirt, out of doors like this. It needs something else - either in the title, or preferably another compositional element, to clarify this one way or another. Not understanding your intent makes it hard to suggest something. Possibly, if the books weren't so neatly ordered, they would look like they had been piled there for an afternoon's reading. Or if there was a cloth or something protective somewhere in the image, it might have given a hint?

This is a well executed image, but for me, to be a bit more accessible and understandable, I need another hint or too as to the intent.
