Description
I'm very happy to announce that this metanode I've been working on for a while finally came out!ShapeShifter is a powerful free vue metanode that can generates advanced procedural material. Provides rich&realistic&diverse details, and it's easy to adjust.
Basically, you can use the mixer to mix the Alpha shape and the Beta Shape.Alpha can provides diverse details, while Beta can provides detail-rich & distorted shape.
You can generate lots of different feeling material for rocks, soil, mountains and so on,the same time you don't need to understand the function editor well, all you need to do is adjusting those sliders, change those colors, and done!
This pack contains 11 preset materials(Hope they can give u some ideas to use it) and a ShapeShifter metanode(version 1.0)
Hope you like it,and if you find any bug, please mention bellow
(Oh my English is not very good, hope you guys can understand what I'm talking aboutXD)

Basically this metanode is easy to use.Keep in mind that the detail provide by Alpha is some kind of uneven. There will be somewhere lack of details(or very flat) while the other areas might have a lot detais.Use the color map to define the color varaition. The detail provide by Beta is always very very rich, and there doesn't exist areas that lack of detail. You can treat the Beta as a variant of Grainy fractal.Sometimes you might don't get a good looking pattern, then just click the Randomize shape for several times until you have a satisficing one.The Mixer simply mix the Alpha and Beta. You can change Alpha to white and Beta to black, then you'll know how the mixer works by playing around the parametrics of mixer. If still have any question just ask me.Have fun

so i use ss w/out any other vector seed or math node?
u r very kind to help me & 2 share ty

You can only use the ss since it can generate patterns all by itself, and you can of course link the parametrics out to some other nodes like turbulence, and you can also combine it with any other fractal node to get some more complex look! You're welcome! These days I'm actually busy writing a process tutorial for one of my own recent vue work,so not many activities here.I'm sure you can read it somewhere soon or laterXD

Wow that looks very interesting! sounds a bit scary as its new to me, not sure i quite understand metanodes at all but im very willing to try it out. I only have one very important question. would this work on vue 9 expirit? or is it one of those things i cant use?

I think it will work on all kinds of version that can support the function editor

Looks good, but I think you should pay attention to the bump settings on the fore ground,it's a little bit too much grainy

Super job. Can we just drop the folder or do I have to separate them, materials etc. Where does the .mnd file go? Sorry to bug you, I guess I am just excited. Bravo and thank you for sharing this.

FireKDragon In reply to skyzyk [2011-10-06 15:37:55 +0000 UTC]
Well you can put the .mnd file to any fold, and you can always load it into function editor by clicking the last but one button on the left side command bar in function editor. But I recomment you put it into \e-on software\Vue 9 xStream\MetaNodes\Color ,then you can access it through the drop-down list of color node.(Did I explain it clearly? )

Great work, makes me wish I understood how to compile and set metanodes, for now I just mix a bunch of functions together the old fashioned way
Great resource, especially since people usually expect money for stuff like this. Nice to see one as a free gift once in a while

I think people want to earn money from stuff like this is reasonable, sometimes it's really not easy to make something powerful and useful.I just want to share something for others to enjoy
Thank you for your comments, you are really a genius on vue artworks.
